Do the planets we can land on feel small to you too?

This has been bothering me for a while.
Does anybody know of planets that feel like full, earth sized (or larger) planets?

Judged by eye to me all current landable planets feel rather smallish. Smaller than Earth for sure.
Even at a low height the horizon is very curved.

Or am I making a wrong judgement here?

Geological surface sites have been in the game for a long time, yet the whole community has only ever managed to find a handfull of them. After the invention of the detailed surface scanner we now know that these site's and more are everywhere. So after thinking about that for a moment, do you still think that landable bodies are small ? You could always drop down to the surface and fly around the planet or even drive all the way around if you're still unsure.

The planets are as big as they ought to be. They are to scale. If you land on a planet with 1000km radius, and are able to drive around its equator at an average speed of 30m/s, then it will take eighteen and a half hours to get back to where you started. If I've worked that out correctly, which I probably haven't.

It's 58 hours and a bit over 10 minutes.

The planets you can land on are smallish as planets go, but that's just because you can only land on the ones which have no atmosphere. Bigger planets will almost always have atmospheres if our theories of planetary formation are right.

Now you need to define 'bigger' in this context...

I think 'Stellar Forge' is a cool name, but 'Total Perspective Vortex' is a cooler name ;)

The true sense of perspective is one of ED's biggest strengths.
