Do the tutorials need a revisit or am I just that bad?

Hi guys! I'm pretty new here. Really been enjoying running through the tutorials so far. Got to wolf pack tutorial which was quite challenging but finally managed to finish it without getting the cobra to smash into an asteroid. I'm now trying to make progress on the Predator and Prey, but I'm pretty close to just giving up at this point.

It looks like perhaps there have been lots of updates and tweaks to the AI and other parts that may have pushed the difficulty over the edge (or maybe I'm just bad?). Would appreciate any tips if anyone knows how to do this in beta 3.05.

This is a little snippet I recorded. I'm sure my piloting skills need some work, but as soon as I attack the fighter it takes evasive action and starts flying circles around me. The AI, speed, and maneuverability appears to be in a whole different class than what I'm seeing from the above video. On my best run I think I've been able to take out 2 of the fighters, but by that time I was long out of heat sinks and got shredded by the Cobra.

They definitely need some work, but I imagine that's going to be part of the polishing right before release. If you look at the 'help' section that shows what the various keyboard controls, etc... are supposed to be, there are quite a few inaccuracies due to various key binds having changed defaults, but the images don't reflect the changes.

It's also possible that this has already been corrected on the Alpha and/or internal test builds, but hasn't been pushed to the Beta build as yet.
 
for starters don't fly with 2-2-2 pips all the time, when you are shooting - more to WEP (2-3 is enough), when chasing enemy - more to ENG (4 pips), when taking fire - more to SYS ;)
 
Also (correct me if I'm wrong anyone), if you're using projectile weapons like the multi-cannon, you only need about one pip to weapons to keep them cooled enough. This would enable you to use more pips to engines when chasing down ships.
