Newcomer / Intro Do we pay some extortionate tax on our trades?

Last night, I bought 100 Tantalum for 399,400 and sold it for 450,400 Making a profit of 51,000.

Even without the 71,000 or so I had left after buying it should have given me 501,400

So why was my balance at 495,374 after selling it? According to my calculations, I have had just over 77,000 taken from my credit balance, that's over 150% of my profit margin.

Is there some sort of extortionate taxation we are paying on our trades? Or has the server forgotten how to count now?

If I'm reading that right your total sales value was 450,000 of which ₢399,400 was the original cost and ₢51,000 was profit. So, if you had ₢71,000 in the bank, you'd end up with ₢521,000 at the end.

It's not
₢450,000 PLUS ₢51,000 profit.

But I may not have understood the post fully.

If this was the case (and I completely understand how you got that figure) he had 495,374 at the end, so missing about 26k.

Indeed, as I thought I had misread it.

The ₢26,000 could be repairs/fuel/fines/new cargo/error of memory at the start/bug.

You are right, I did realise the mistake later.

However, I am 77K down. So even taking that 51K into consideration, I am still missing around 26K. I don't have any loans or anything and I don't usually refuel and repair until I exit the commodities screen, not that I would have used that much fuel in one jump and no repairs were necessary.
