Do you float or do you Park?

Hi All
On my way to Colonia in my trusty Python, my first long range venture away from the bubble. Decided I was going to scan every undiscovered system I found so it's taking a long time!

Was wondering what you guys do when you log off. Do you leave your ship floating in space or do you land and Park up until the next session? I always Park :), just doesn't feel right to me to leave my ship just floating around.

Regards
G

It's usually safer to park in space, since respawning on a surface can veer into bugs and glitches where you fall into the planet, respawn and crash/explode, etc. Unless it's been fixed in the past months.

Always float.

I see no added value in parking, not even from an RP perspective. In the contrary, I'd rather not take the risk of screwing up a landing and losing hull-% which I cannot repair.

Depends on how I am feeling at the end of the session. If I am not too tired, and there is a suitable planet nearby, I will land and park. If I am knackered or there are no landable planets I will float.

I have never experienced any bugs either way.

Depends on where I leave the session. If I'm in space I usually move away from the star, if I was close to it, and log off. If I'm on the surface usually on the SRV. I don't go to extraordinary lengths to land for the night because it makes no difference and I like to be able to continue from where I was in the previous session.

I look for a landable planet with a nice view and park for the night. Or for what's left of the night as most times, I look on the clock, say to myself "time to park and log off" and realize one hour later that I still haven't found my nice view, still not parked and still logged on...

Just parked up on BD+55 191 in the NGC 281 nebula, but normally I just drift about 10Ls or so away from the sun of my last jump make sure I have filled up the tank and log. :)

I do both. If I'm on a long journey, it just feels better to land and take some screenshots, then log out. If I'm in a hurry, or taking a shorter trip and don't care about the RP perspective or whatever, then I'll drop out of supercruise some distance from the star, and then log out. This is assuming I'm nowhere near a base, of course. If I'm near one of those deep space outposts or asteroid bases, there's a good chance I'll push toward it to log out for the night, as long as it's not too far out of the way for my current journey.
