Do you guys keep your older ships?

Heya, like the title sais, do you guys keep your sidewinders, eagles, haulers etc.. stored in random stations?

Would there be a reason to? Or should i just sell my eagle, etc..? (have the Cobra now)

I kept my ships, all in one system, each for different roles.
Cobra for long range rare goods runs, Viper for shooting the something out of whatever gets targeted and my eagle because it was free :)
Still have my sidey kicking around too, but its going to gather a heck of a lot of dust.

I have about 25 ships all over the place, if I find an interesting system or somewhere with good upgrades, I'll buy a ship to mark it. My main ships, Type-7/Cobra have a homebase. So the other ships are just markers or shuttles if needed.

Nah, I sell mine. Currently only have my Asp.

I tend to travel around a lot so I sell anything before I go somewhere further away.

The things is (maybes it just me) but you spend so long in one ship sometimes you kinda get attached to it.

For instance I had my starting sidewinder fully upgraded and spent so many hour BH with it that when I had enough to go for the Adder I didn't want to trade it in.

I only had the adder for a day or so before I had enough for the Cobra and I didn't feel much when giving it up. I have had the cobra for about 3 days now and spent quite a few hours in it and as the jump to the next ship (ASP) for me is so big not sure I will want to get rid of it.

i tend to keep my old ships as they are fully upgraded and ready to fly. I am just waiting till FD implement the npc freighter service for stored ships so we can move them about without having to buy sidewinders as shuttles.

I keep the ships that are more customized with components that took me a while to find. I sell the ones that weren't - like my type 6 where the only modifications were buying 100t worth of cargo space.

Best idea. Gives more flexibility without anchoring yourself to one location.

Yes I do, I try to have a different ship for each job rather than something like a Cobra to do one size fits all. I upgrade the ships when I have a little spare cash. Using a Lakon7 with no shields for trading, Viper for general combat and missions, and Hauler for exploring and long distance. The Viper is upgraded to A class everything except shields. Hauler has advanced discovery scanner and detailed surface scanner and rest of upgrades D class to save weight. I hope they bring in a Taxi or removal service to move unused ships around.

I keep my old ships.. you never know when you need them.. there again I tend to stay in one location only long enough to earn the credits to buy the next most expensive ship on the list, part the old one in storage, upgrade it and then pick a random direction (usually based on what system name sounds interesting) and head off for a couple of hundred light years..

This is what I do, if you're you not based out of any one system you can be hundreds of light years from them. I need a ship courier service to fly them arround after me.

If it's a ship I'm fond of I'll keep it. I kept my Sidey for nostalgic reasons. My Hauler and my Asp are my two favourites so I'm sure I'll keep them indefinitely and keep switching between them at regular intervals, no matter which other ships might join my fleet further down the road.

Sold up to now -

I now have a cobra that is being set up for trading along the border.

Im going to look at a new cobra to start of on mining and then find a safe route and get myself a lakon

Upto now haven't seen a point in keeping the smaller run-arounds, though I can see me getting a taxi service Sidewinder at some point

I have my upgraded Cobra and bought another Eagle for my son to use, having sold it early on.

But we have had problems upgrading it.
Having trouble with the Eagles power it has 2 pulse type 1's and a type 1 multi canon. We have upgraded the power supply and distributor but the lasers stop working when in a dog fight, they are not over heating and the power usage is at 85% ?

Seeing as storage space is free (I guess they just stick it to the outside of the station or something), I have kept my sidey (the good ship Lusty Ferret) but switched to something with a little more headroom. I guess I'll keep all my ships (unless it's just a sidey used for transferring between them).
