Engineers do you need to return to the engineers workshop each time you want to upgrade something?

I know the pain, just upgraded the FSD on 6 of my ships. But then someone suggested buying x amount of FSD, ship them to farseer, do the mods on them all and ship them back as needed, I suppose it only works if all modules are the same size but might save time for some!
 
1 - Fly to system where you want to mod ships using your longest jump range ship.
2 - Dock at nearest station to the engineer base
3 - Request transfer your other ships to that station (*)
4 - Mod your current ship.
5 - Go back to the station in (2) and swap ships.
6 - Repeat between (4) and (5) until you have upgraded all your ships.

(*) "ah but ship transfers cost a lot of cash!!" -> no longer a problem, as missions are now paying gazillions of credits all over the bubble.

Oh and hurry before FD puts the engineer commodities back. :D

Wait.

They are putting commodities back? WHY would they do this? It was awful before. IT will be awful again. Well, MORE awful, anyway. the entire system is still awful. But without commodities, its a little less awful at least.

They said they would remove commodities until we have some form of commodity storage.

So better hoard mods as quickly as you can before they do. That's what I'm doing :D

Thanks for the warning. Cant wait for them make the game deliberately less fun (again). The forums ought to be a WONDERFUL place about the time commodities become a requirement again.

Not to mention, their accepting commodities makes NO sense:

We CANNOT pay them credits to perform a job. But they WILL accept things that CAN BE bought for credits. So...why not just accept the damned credits, and BUY YOUR OWN COMMODITIES?

This entire RNG mess couldnt get MORE stupid and nonsensical if it intentionally tried to do so...
