Do you prefer the Federation, Empire or Alliance?

I know a lot of people do not care one way or the other but, for the ones that do, out of curiosity which of the superpowers do you align with?

I'm definitely Federation and always thought the Empire had the most fans. However, during a CG that pitted the Feds and the Imps against each other in CZ zones--the Feds absolutely dominated so now I'm not so sure.

Independent. Although I'll do jobs for any of the superpowers when certain ulterior motives need to be met. Prefer to fly in Imperial style over Federation drab grey functionality any day.

None of the above.

Oddly enough, much like real politics, I tend to think most of the current "big players" in ED are a shower of clowns.

If I had to come out in support of any group in ED it'd probably be Sirius Corp or the EG Pilots.

Been repping federation and felt naturally aligned with them when I had Sol as home. But after doing cg in empire space I was struck by how incredibly friendly their comms are after becoming ally and it really took effort to leave their territory. But posh creeps do have nice manners don't they? As long as you're not a slave that is.

Federation.

Science-fiction has taught us that federations are good and empires are evil. Alliances can go either way.

I like the logic ;)

If forced to choose I'd go fed, but really I'm an independent. I'm nobodies enemy but nobodies ally either.

I guess you never watched Blake's 7 then, as far as I recall the Terran Federation weren't nice people.;)

As for my two accounts, both are independent. The first slightly favours the Feds, regards all the main powers as corrupt, but sees the Feds as being more honestly corrupt with less pretence about high ideals. The second one has a soft spot for the Alliance, but generally just goes where the credits are.

All powers seem hollow and powerless to me. As in - there is no story, no substance. Totally irrelevant like Indiana Jones in the "Riders of the lost ark" movie.

Fed.

I’ll take the corporate-influenced constitutional republic of the Feds that at least keeps up the pretense of democracy and what most of us westerners would recognize as a civil society, over the bizarre, pernicious authoritarian personality cult that surrounds the Empire. A society where people are enslaved and traded like cattle for the sin of going bankrupt. They pernicously cloak it in luxury and style, but it’s a morally repugnant autocracy built on the backs of unpaid labor.

Vile. Just vile.
