Do you thing we're done getting regular exhibit animals?

With the Tropical Pack coming out in just a few days from now, we're getting our third consecutive pack with a walkthrough exhibit animal. It made me wonder if Frontier decided to just abandon regular exhibit animals entirely in favor of the more fleshed-out walkthrough exhibit animals. If that's the case, I think it would be a shame because there's still plenty of regular exhibit animals they could add, especially reptiles. What do you guys think? Are we not getting any more regular exhibit animals, or do you think Frontier just wants to expand on a gameplay mechanic that took them who knows how long to make?

Probably for a while? There are a lot of options for WE's, which are the new flashy toy for them to play with. Walkthrough aviaries and then the WE without the option to walkthrough are the optimal solution to get flying birds into the game. I'm still holding out some kind of hope.

If Frontier plans to add birds to the Walkthrough exhibits I would definitely prefer them over another animal in regular exhibit. Sad that we never got a Chameleon or really small mammals though. An idea would be to add a Walkthrough exhibit animal and regular exhibit animal in animal packs from now on. Even if that means one less habitat animal.

I hope not, we have so many animals that could be used. Not to mention a nice overhaul for exhibits would be great. But considering how walkthrough exhibits still full underutilized I don’t think we will see more for awhile.

I'd like to see some new critters introduced that could be in either walkthrough or in the traditional exhibits.

I think I'd like to see some of the exhibit animals already in the game being available for the walk in exhibits too. Not the venomous ones or the ones that are likely to bite the guests, obviously, but some of those reptiles, amphibians, and arthropods seem like they could be in a walk through habitat.

I really hope it's not over for exhibits. We have lots of smaller animals left, building the typical herps and/or bugs house is very difficult at the moment because you are restricted to the same species all the time, and geographically-wise there are lots of empty places (nothing from Asia apart from 3 invertebrates!?). Look at the Exhibit meta-wishlist or the Map of the entire roster threads to know what I mean.

Also, thinking about the future, it's true that WEs are out better chance for aviaries, but regular exhibits are our better chance for aquariums.

Hopefully not, gimme my chameleon and cobra!
Yes, exactly. They're also the only two "standard exhibit" types of animals I'd really like to see added. I will hope that may be they'll do both for the anniversary update. Since it's exhibits with overall less work, they might can work both in.

I think it’s a bit disappointing they didn’t continue with exhibits when walkthrough exhibits were introduced. The two shouldn’t have to be mutually exclusive and given how simple exhibit animals are, you’d think a quick model and zoopedia entry wouldn’t be to difficult to implement. Packs would gain a bit more value if they were 4 habitat animals, a walkthrough exhibit and a regular exhibit. Or 7 habitat animals a walkthrough exhibit and a regular exhibit. We could’ve had a Death’s Head Cockroach for Twilight, a Black Mamba for Grasslands and an Emerald Tree Boa for Tropical for example..

I absolutely LOVE new WE system and hope we would get WE animal in every next pack…. but….
There are at least 5 regular exhibit animals that are in my opinion essential to the roster. But in my opinion with the new animation and possibilities of WE some of them could also work great as the WE animals. Without further ado:

- Chameleons - imagine a Tropical chameleon Forest WE with different species colors and sizes - that would be my favorite WE exhibit. If not through WE I would love to see Jackson’s chameleon which would be great for regular exhibits. In Zurich zoo chameleons are living free on huge Masoala rainforest hall with lemurs, bats and birds.

- Geckos - they would be hard to implement to WE since there is a walk on walls action involved so I see them more as the regular exibit species and I would be happy with any, but Tokay gecko is my personal favourite because of being large and the ability of walking on walls but leopard geckos and New Caledonian Giant geckos are also great.

- Cobra - to iconic to be left out and would be great to regular exibits with the Indian cobra as my favourite.

- Larger Lizards in general - they would work wonderfully both as WE and regular exhibit system, though putting them in WE would give us possibilities of new complex animations like walk on water for Plumed Basilisk or defending positions of Frilled necked lizard both lizards I completely can not imagine the final roster without.

I certanly hope so.
While i understand wanting animals that so far would have been exhibit animals, as there are many great choices, theres imo no point in more of them, as in the end all of them will just be set dressing for one of 5 way to big, boring terrarium set ups, which really wont add anything new.
Unless we get a major exhibit overhaul we have traditional exhibits as the clearly by far inferior option and until they are made worth while on a gameplay level outside of early game cheese id rather have them abandom a bad system in favor of a better one

I really hope we aren't done with regular exhibits yet. I badly want a chameleon and a cobra, just for starters, and I'd also love to see a brightly coloured arboreal snake like an emerald tree boa.
Building rep houses is honestly one of my favourite things to do in the game, and some more variety would be great.

While it's hard, I have to agree (except that I'm not opposed to getting a whole DLC revolved around exhibits😏)
However, I'm more interested in a full update that overhauls the exhibits. Here's my dream:
  • Null variants, much like the WEs
  • More sizes
    • 4×1×4 - this one would be same height, same length, but the width is 1/4 the size, for smaller species (I'm thinking in mechanics, because I don't know entirely how they work)
    • 4×8×4 - essential the same height and width but longer. This would be ideal for larger animals, like anaconda and iguanas
  • Combinable exhibit animals - I know that not all can be combined, but at the very least the poison frogs should be able to be combined. In real-life, many zoos have small exhibit animals combined
  • Loops - they don't need to be as amazing as the WE loops, but give some of the animals the "sloth treatment": have them remain in a spot most of the time, but every so often they'll move to another spot. I think that this is more doable than having huge, butterfly/bat loops

Add much smaller sizes, not being nessecarly connected to a path and we got a deal
