Do you think Planet Zoo will be more popular than Planet Coaster?

I've always been drawn to simulation type games but they usually don't hold my attention for very long. For example, I loved the original RollerCoaster Tycoon games including Planet Coaster. After a while though I lost interest in each one because at the end of the day I just don't care all that much about theme parks or roller coasters. I love animals though and I've always enjoyed learning about them which is why I think Planet Zoo could 'be the one' so to speak.

What are you thoughts? Do you think Planet Zoo might appeal to a wider audience than Planet Coaster given it's focused on animals? How do you feel personally? Are you equally interested in both or are you similar to my experience?

I have a large selection of games [including Planet Coaster]. I don't recall ever researching every thread/video/stream [twitter, forum, YouTube, Twitch] I possibly could about a game. Until now. From what I've learned/seen so far, I feel confident in saying that Planet Zoo is going to outshine so many expectations. Its going to be extraordinary.

I’m not as interested in building theme parks, I lose interest quickly.. idk building coasters and just making buildings/placing flat rides isn’t for me.

I’ve always loved zoos, and zoo tycoon has always been has always been a favorite game of mine, so I’m super excited for Planet zoo, with all the information we’ve been getting, all the dynamics and the beautiful animals... I’m really looking forward to this!

I'm the same way as you. I have an itch for a simulation type of game but if the subject material doesn't hold some kind of inherit interest for me I just get bored with them, or find no 'reason' to continue investing time in them. This is why I'm so excited for Planet Zoo. Being able to scratch that simulation itch, having a 3D creative outlet, and subject material (animals) I really care about? I can't wait! :D

I LOVE watching planet coaster Lets Plays. I'm actually addicted. But I don't feel the need to play it myself, since the last time I visited a theme park was when I was a kid. I don't ride rides or coasters. But I'm a huuuge zoo enthusiast.
Given how long people waited for a propper zoo game, yes, I think it will be more popular than PlanCo. Might even draw more players to the franchise, so they'll play PlanCo afterwards. Or PlanCo 2.

I guess so, yeah. I didn't even know Planet Coaster until Planet Zoo was announced. But that may be because my interest in amusement parks tends towards zero. On the other hand, I know a few gamers I never expected to be interested in Planet Zoo and who are looking forward to Tuesday too. I think Planet Zoo will be very successful.

I think Planet Zoo will be very popular. Based on the reactions from people at the Planet Zoo booth at Gamescom a lot of them were pleasantly surprised to learn that Planet Zoo is made by the same studio that developed Planet Coaster, Zoo Tycoon for Xbox and RollerCoaster Tycoon 3.

Planet Zoo has the advantage of being part of the "Planet" franchise, which is already a known as a good brand by players thanks to Planet Coaster. That, in combination with the love for animals that many people have, makes me believe that Planet Zoo might very well be more popular than Planet Coaster.

Exciting times ahead! :D

I would like the management options in Planet Zoo to be a lot more comprehensive than Planet Coaster.

I am not really a creative type, I did dabble in PC but it very quickly became boring for me and the DLC's seemed to focus on the creative rather than fattening out the management options, but hey ho it's their choice.

I will wait to see (you tube/twitch) what PZ has to offer in terms on management depth. The addition of animals etc.. is unlikely to tempt me into the BETA tbh.

I've played a bit of planet coaster, since I got it on a sale a few months back, but sadly, I didn't really get hooked. Its not because its a bad game or anything, but its just that I don't really find building theme parks as something fun. I believe that planet zoo is probably going to be something which appeals to me more, as its a spiritual successor to Zoo tycoon 2, which was my favorite computer game when I was younger.
