Hello, I need your help.
First of all Im from Spain, so, Im sorry for my broken english.
Im thinking of buying this game, but Im not sure if my playstyle will fit in this "galaxy". I really like deep rpg or strategy games, used to like driving simulators too, some examples of the games Ive enjoyed are: morrowind, skyrim, nascar2003, F12002, sim city 4, world of tanks, deus ex, ultima online, cities skylines, gta (all of them), transport tycoon deluxe, doom I and II, nba games, Il 2 sturmovik, flight simulator, etc...
As you can see Ive never played a space sim before, more than 20 years as a pc gamer and never tried a space sim. Until now.
I have heard about ED through the star citizen forums, I love the idea to be able to land on planets and explore the galaxy, but SC is on alpha right now and I cant pay for a game to play on the future, I dont know if Im going to need that money for something more important than a virtual ship that I cant use now. So, ED is almost my choice right now because its a finished game.
But I have doubts. Ive played the demo, which I love, amazing sound and graphics, I love the way my ship feels, and Im using key+mouse. Also, Ive watched some YouTube videos and streams, and some of them are amazing, but others left me with some questions:
1.- almost all the stations look the same? And from inside all look the same with a different name?
2.- are there plans to make scanning planets and stars more interesting? I mean, more interactive perhaps?
3.- can I get closer to the planets atmosphere? Or are there invisible barriers? I know landings will be a feature in the future, but right now I want to know if you can get closer to moons and planets
3.- is landing a serious promise? Or just speculations?
4.- are there discounts on steam or on the official page? Or that never happens? I want to pay full price to suppourt the developer team and to speed up the expansions, but I recently buyed a house and Im totally broke...
I love the idea of flying trough the galaxy, finding amazing places, but the landing on planets part is a must for me, I know it will be in the game eventually, but I want to play the game so bad right now that I dont mind landings and I can wait a bit for the DLC just exploring the galaxy without landings. Ive played the demo like a million times and never gets old for me, love the ambience that this game have and its fun to kill thos npcs in the demo, but I dont know about the actual full game...
Do you think this game is for me? Can you guys give me some advices?
