Hardware & Technical Do your jonty!

Yes .. I can.

There is a poster on the Kick Start comments section called Jonty. (Forget his surname)

Sometime back he put a pledge of (oh I dunno) £20.

As more and more was learnt about the game he kept posting "well, guess I should up my pledge then"

I think he is currently on £90 pledged.

With this particular individual being quite colourful with regards to his posts, and people warming to him anyway, over time this caught on as "doing your jonty" - meaning to up your pledge to a higher bracket.

On the flip-side you may also come across the expression "do a barry". This means to reduce or remove your pledge after becoming disgruntled with the progress of the Kickstarter campaign.

I believe it occurred when a particular individual (named Barry something) posted a comment about how dissatisfied he was with the info coming from FD and how he believed the campaign would fail. As such he kinda threw his toys out of the pram and withdrew his pledge.

To be fair to him, he wished the project luck and hoped to be proved wrong, but he's since disappeared. There are a lot of eagle-eyed people on KS watching the pledge and backers total, so now when they see a drop its referred to as someone "doing a barry" :)

Isn't it funny that a whole set of colloquialisms have developed in what is effectively a single thread. I'm actually amazed that people have become so fixated in it. That in itself is quite cool :D

I think Jonty should of had more faith and pledged the most he could adequately afford right away.

Like all us proper fans! :p
