dock it hard

Is it just me, or does the docking computer seem to land a tad aggressively..?

Also nice choice of music for the landing sequence.... Takes me back to 1984.

You think the docking computer is bad! You should try riding pillion with me when I dock. You can pretty much handbreak slide a ship onto the pad.

Much like this,

I'm worse at outposts - I'll do a full 180 trustered half loop onto the pad. If you don't hear hull smack against the deck it's not a good landing :D

Admittedly it's ended badly once or twice....but it sure is fun.

I haven't played with the music on, but I'm assuming they have re-used An der schönen blauen Donau, or in English The Blue Danube by Johann Strauss II

I tried the Docking computer once and when it ..eventually.. landed I sold that module and I've landed manually since, I really can't understand why anyone would use it, it uses a slot and its so incredibly s l o w.

Because. Stanley Kubrick.

^ This.

I must buy a docking computer some time just so I can sit back once and listen to it play the music and dock for me. Other than that, I always dock myself, and quickly. It's part of the fun and the challenge.

Yea I did bin it, after 3 runs as my manual docking is much more fun, I like the scraped look on my Sydney ;)

I can't stand docking. It is tedious, boring and completely silly.

The only reason I don't use a docking computer is the hull damage it causes with it's stupidly hard landings AND it takes up a valuable ship slot.

I find the docking to be a really big detractor from the game for me. Since the docking computer was so stupidly implemented I have no other choice but to fly through a stupid spinning mail slot.

I've got a docking computer - had to turn it off while running out of air (missing screen after tussle with an Anaconda) and the computer was trying to get my Cobra perfectly lined up at an Outpost...

I have noticed though - the docking computer can nail the landing at an Outpost, but can't hit dead center at a station...

here is how I do it.

Not the way I do it!

used a docking computer once during beta.
scared the living hell out of me.
went back to manual, faster safer, and you don't look look like a plonker flying through the letterbox and station at that odd angle.
