Docking Control

Space Traffic control should form a queue of people. Let you know where you are in the queue and provide a countdown as you move up the queue. Also people should automatically be taken to the hanger. Loiterers should be shot.

If I hear 'Docking Request Denied' one more time Ill attack the damned station. :)

just pulled an all nighter and was just calling it a day. when the landing pad and throttle set fire to the ship... sat with 2 friends and they are laughing their bits off... im proper hagged and alas it was all for naught... ahhh well I enjoyed myself right up until that bit.... im sure I can do in an hour or 3 of what I did in 11hours today. cant believe it though... you shouldn't be able to do what I just did... this is me moaning now... I overshot the landing pad by a tiny amount but the dead zones don't work with my hotas controller. there is literally 1mm of space to place the thrust so that its not shooting forwards or backwards... I can use the keyboard binds but I touched the thruster to slow down instead of the keyboard and the ship jumped to 150-450 reverse into the wall etc.... and the canopy bust open as I tried to correct the thrusters. aaaaaarrrrgggggghhhhhhh feel my pain.... :/ lol

sign!

Perfect idea and just what I was thinking.
A few minutes ago I was sitting in front of one of these smaller stations with 8 other people waiting for two landing-pads getting available while more and more ships were arriving. I don't see a lot of reasons to keep it that frustrating.

  • Force people to the hangar --- if ships always have to be turned around after starting from the docking pads the "time advantage" of being simply docked instead of being delivered to the hangar would be negligible.
  • Give waiting ships slot numbers for their place in waiting queue and a waiting timer after requesting to dock... just in case moving ships to the hangar would solve the whole issue.

Need to make a better docking call system

I agree.

Yesterday I did stay outside a station in about 20 min, without get docking Granted, And I also did see people did come and leave all the time. some did get on the station before me. that is a pain.
It did any me so much that I did turn of the game. Did at got "docking request deiend" 500 times on 2 hours. that is to much.

So I would love to a a queue where the say, exs, "All the docking stations is full, you are number 3 in line, Pleas hold " or something like that, and when something do update, " You are now number 2 in line"

this would make the gameplay better, in stead of trying to get access for many hours......

Also reduce the time window for docking. 10 minutes is way too long to allow docking. Make it 3 or 5 mintues.

hehe, you only need at least 3 min to dock. but the thing I hate most, is people that dock at a station and go AFK. they take docking ports and make the wait longer. When I go AFK, I just stay outside the station or logoff so I dont make any long delays for other peoples.

My solution to the long queues of ships waiting to dock at stations is this:

I log off back to main menu.
Log into solo play.
Fly a little ways back to station.
Request docking & land.
Once in the hanger, log off & log back into open session.
no frustrations.

Only downside I see, if you were in a sessions with friends then you may well not be when you log back in after docking.

well it works, But as I have said earlier. you lose half of the point of having a MMO if you log off to singelplayer to dock or do things.

Ah, I was just about to post something about this.

Specifically for outposts. Yes, Put a Dock Queue. Instead of docking denied, place a request in a queue and let it count down as ships leave. (it is the 34th century, we can have this) - simply automatic request when reaching top of queue.
also, more immersion would be if you don't place queues for anarchy systems, since they don't follow a law or something like that.

For me personally, I wouldn't do that. floating waiting for my request to go though is part of the immersion and fun. I see it as a real world more than a game and to obtain numbers by logging off to reset the instance.
