Docking Denied!

'Docking denied'! 'Docking denied'! 'Docking denied'!

The above is all i hear constantly, it has now stopped me playing more times than i can recall, and i'm getting a bit fed up with it! I travel thousands of light years across friendly space, trying to make a living from trading, it takes up to hour or so+ at times and when i arrive at my faction friendly station, i'm told to bog off!

WHY?

Logging out and in doesn't work, doing frameshift loops doesn't work, nothing i have tried fixes this bug!

Request denied

How far away from the station are you when you request permission? I know the smaller stations deny all requests when you are further than 7.5km away.

It's not a bug, it's very busy there. Try going to solo and seeing if the lack of any CMDR's nearby lets you dock. Personally though I've had some good times while sitting in a docking queue. Fly up to another commander and flash your lights at him/her.

As far as I know this happens when the station/outpost is full. There was a change in beta 2 so when this happens an NPC is told to leave the station but obviously real Commanders don't get told to leave. It seems that some Commanders like sitting in dock.

I know from experience--especially at smaller stations--that if all landing pads are in use (i.e. the pads and/or bays are occupied by ships) the station will deny you docking privileges. Remember that both NPCs and players can occupy pads; just give it a minute or two and try requesting again

Outpost only has three docking ports or so. Just watch for a ship leaving dock, then request docking every second until you get "granted".

I know, but he specifically mentioned it as a "bug" even though it's intended functionality. I've seen a few other threads that have requested a queue be implemented with a UI counter so players don't have to spam docking requests for minutes (or hours) on end. And as for the Fed Navy mission, I failed that twice myself for this reason, but I plan to pick it up from a larger station next time around so I don't get dock-blocked when rushing to turn in the weapons

Solo works for docking

Going to solo mode always works for docking but is a very annoying thing to have to do. When you go back into the open play, you are in the hanger.

A good solution for the docking issue would be to automatically send a player's ship to the hanger when the docks are full and a docking request comes in, and release the pad for another player.

Happens all the time to me too, just have to wait it out. However, yesterday I went to an outpost station that only has 3 pads, all were open but there was no option to dock in the contacts menu and the station was completely surrounded by NPC ships, all just sitting there..

Happens more than 90% of the time to me. I try about 20 times then log out. There's better things to do than playing a queue simulator.
