Docking denied

Getting lots of docking denieds. Wasted 2 hours this evening shuttling between different places trying to get in.

The message needs to be more explicit.

As has been discussed before, the reason docking is denied is (usually) because all of the station's docking pads are occupied.
Either you could go to a different, less busy system, or try going into Solo play and see if there is a free slot there.

Yeah I get that problem sometimes myself. Usually spamming the docking request seems to work - eventually. Also make sure you are within the 7500 limit or the station will have no time for you.

I also noticed that (usually on outposts) that I will get docking clearance immediately after a ship (AI) leaves the station (maybe they are full and have no free landing pads).

I do agree though, a "Docking Denied - No Landing Pads Currently Available" etc would be a bit more informative. It has been shown - especially in Beta that network issues can also cause docking requests to be denied.

same here! its getting beyond funny now, I'm in the middle of no where, just explored a one sun and planet system, absolutly no traffic to be seen supercrusing then arrive at the outpost and there are about 20 AI ships there
, no real players! requeated docking at least 50 times, docking denied, jump back to supercruise come back nothing changed, kept spamming the outpost for docking every 2 seconds another 50 or so times before it was granted. total time waiting to dock 40 minutes. failed a mission because of it. am I missing something here?

[Edit] As I was waiting new ships arrived and got landed before I did and there were empty pads for upto 5 minutes
!!!

I think a rebalancing is in order. The docking should prioritise real players over AI. If there are no available landing pads because of AI, one should be despawned to let the player through.

I can't remember what patch this was implemented (somewhere in Gamma I think), but there was a change where if a player requested docking and there were no free slots, an AI was meant to evacuate the pad for the player as fast as possible. Seems like that might not be working anymore.

thats way too intuitive for ED to muster ....first they have to mangle it.....thgen ignore it.......then break it....then pronounce they are listening to us and finally give us what we suggested 5 months before....like they have clue 1....well they do but its shared

I have had no problems docking on any outpost. There is the bug where the pad UI sometimes disappears but that`s a different issue. The only place there are problems are systems with lots of new players in them. Best way to deal with this is to buy a fuel scoop, an upgraded FSD, and get yourself to a less populated system! Itll clear up when people start moving out of the systems they started in.

This has almost forced me to play Solo! I seem to spend a lot of time at refinery-type stations and they only have THREE landing pads. It's rather ridiculous.
