Newcomer / Intro Docking doors wont open.

What am i doing wrong? I request permission, fly to the yellow flashing door and nothing happens.

I keep hitting the station, is there a door that is supposed to open? I fly directly into the yellow flash and nothing happens but hit the wall.

I suggest you watch this, the guy has done an entire series on getting started with Elite Dangerous.
Take my advice and watch as many of his videos as possible, I learned so much watching them.

I am trying to figure out what is the yellow flashing door ...maybe its the landing pad , its yellow , has flashing lines ...I think OP enters the station, goes directly to LZ with nose down , waiting for bay doors to open. OP, you need to deploy landing gear, go above the yellow flashing zone, face forward yellow numbers, get near them and when they start disappearing, stop, and fly down (as in elevator goind down) .

Thats the only Yellow flashing door I can think of too
Hopefully he will watch the vids and sus it
