Docking FAOFF.

I ain't gonna name and shame, but a certain Pirate here on these forums didn't thought i could pull it off..


Now i ain't gonna lie to you chaps, this ain't a beauty, certainly not the best docking i've done with FA OFF.

Anyway, here ya go!

Now if one of you chaps think you can do it better, i would love to see..

(Post in this thread. Would also love to see how our PC brothers pull this one off. With or Without HOTAS. )

I actually just started to be able to enter stations and dock with FA off. Like you Dusty, the landings aren't pretty but acceptable. I feel like it is a huge accomplishment as a pilot :) congrats on your landing Dusty. Now don't do what I did and wounder what rotation correction was...... impossible is what it seems like lol

How are you guys making such long vids? Whenever I do one its only about 25s long, are you using some kind of game capture thingy?

Nice one dusty ,I was expecting you to do it in a Cobra or a Viper not a big unresponsive Python.
What's the difference with the xbox's FA off and the pc's ?I've heard a pretty big difference mentioned a few times over the last few months but can't work out what it would be.
Nice flying to you as well Mr bongo I tried it in the asp last week and bottled it when I was sideways in the toaster rack

You can change how long your xbox records footage in the settings.

Double click the big shiny xbox button > snap (at the bottom) > GameDVR > choose end clip now. You can choose up to 5 minutes

With the HOTAS you have much better control, and better fine tuning your movements.

Ok i did a few earlier, first time i tried faoff landings... hats off to anyone who regularly does it well. It gets so drifty/twitchy on a controller - lots of practise needed i think.
I dont exactly know how to post them here but they are too short anyway (only 1min) so i need to up the dvr limit and do a few more so can see the whole thing.

You're on my friend list dusty (gt is zubnut) so you can check the (end of the) three dodgy faoff ones from today if you like. The last one i did was a textbook landing with fa on just for comparison! But, there is no comparison!:D


Edit- i used a python to keep the challenge the same but im guessing its a lot easier with smaller ships?
