Ships Docking issues due to size?

Okay, so I have been looking at the picture of this ship for an embarrasing amount of hours now, and it just truck me -

What if it is not supposed to dock?

Much like the Anaconda I imagine that the Corvette will have the possibility to dock smaller ships on it, (and I don't see FD releasing the Corvette before that feature is ready, both for itself and for the Anaconda) and when I look at the image of the Corvette I get a strange feeling that the rear part of it can unfold into a landing pad. Probably as a substitute for landing gear:

That opens up for the possibilities of a trading/transport ship from the stations (and maybe even outposts?) that could come and land on the Corvette when trading was done. Part of this could also be acheived with limpets, but then again not with bigger ship parts.
This would naturally increase the chances of getting caught smuggling, but the idea of a ship so massive that it would need to park outside the station appeals to me.

I, for one is looking forward to seeing this titan in game! SO. VERY. MUCH!

From the size of the bridge, the corvette will be roughly the same size as the Conda (probably smaller)

Devs touted the ship as the largest playable 'Fed' ship, they would have just said largest playable ship in game if it was larger than the Conda.

Even the Panther Clipper will be able to use large pads, and that thing is a T9 on steroids.

Well maybe larger ships are comming later?
Or maybe size is not measured in length, but in mass - thus making the panther bigger?

How would you like the possibility of an external docking scenario - does it not appeal to you?

I wouldn't mind a playable interdictor with this idea of flying from it in a conda all casually docking and going back sounds quite cool an idea if i'm honest :p

First ship that allows me to dock and carry around an FDL gets my vote. Can be terrible in anything other than an expensive way to combat the low jump range and require the FDL to carry fuel cargo to it, it would still be on my Christmas list.

I believe the devs said the delay was figuring out what should happen to ships docked to ones that blow up. Far as I can see it's pretty easy to set up some ground rules.

If it's two ships from different players docked together and one gets shot to pieces, the other one either blows up with it if the owner doesn't reach their interior in time, or they do and it either blows up or takes significant damage based on the size difference of the ships (so a Vulture docked to an exploding Anaconda would probably blow up as well, but a T-9 might survive with severe damage). If the ship is the second ship of the same player that's docked internally, then the pilot should be able to reach it and fly away in it like an escape pod. You still have a massive penalty as you just lost your big ship and anything it was carrying, and you're possibly stuck in an area where your jump range won't let you get back to civilisation without help. And once you do get there you gotta rebuy your ship, and who knows how much that'll be.

Good luck waiting for that, you realise how big the FDL is right. Comparison here:

I honestly don't think we'll ever see it, the Anaconda is supposed to be able to carry up to Sidewinder size, you are asking for a ship about 5 times the size of the Conda. Even without the problems of docking such a ship you are talking about a size 15 FSD and the lowest manoeuvrability imaginable, like -5 or something.
It'd be better to have a moving station :p

Thing is Conda is quite long and narrow. Something broader could potentially hold it as some kind of class 9 Hangar Bay Internal Component.

Panther Clipper is a good candidate, it's designed to haul things, possibly gonna be the largest ship in the game full stop, and has a shape that could easily carry an FDL, so swapping out a massive cargo hold for a Medium Hangar bay? Could be feasible.

+1 for the idea of using internal compartments to install a hangar bay.

Potentially this could lead to missions that offered ship hauling / transporting.
