Horizons Docking Problems

Unfortunately, I can't use docking pads in the stations with my cutter (impossible to land), is this a known problem or did I forget how to land? :D

Same here. I have tried docking at Walters with my T7 a couple of times and I have to keep going back and forth and side to side like a first timer! Eventually the docking clicks in and I get locked down but it's all a bit strange.

I'm flying Adder, so small ship and shouldn't have any problems, but noticed the same thing. Now it's harder to get lock down at the landing pad:(

Try using a docking computer. They have really refined and improved the DC's performance in 2.2. I have had no problems landing any of my ships using the DC to actually handle the final touchdown. I don't use a Cutter, but I had no problems with my Anaconda, Corvette, Python or the Beluga Liner.

The landing sequence is slower but far more realistic looking with big ships. They behave like big ships instead of paper airplanes. ;)

FYI: Manually flying the mailslot and turning over control to the DC once inside the station is faster than a 100% manual landing. At least if you consider a realistic looking landing something of value. :)

My cousin's an XBox user and i was talking with him as he had exactly the same issues landing the Beluga, listening to him go back and forth and left and right and up and down.... LOL i was of course supportive, he had to leave the station cancel docking and try again before it worked as expected.

LOL He was so stressed that he bought a docking computer which on the first attempted to land with it boosted him into the face of the station LOL........... i was crying ROFL

I have to contradict you, for me at least manual landing is way faster then the DC and more CMDR's might confirm it. And using a slot just for DC isn't something I want to do imo as I loose an important slot.

I agree with you its not quicker, that said i didn't think it was overly slow either, it landed my Beluga yesterday in less then a minute. I also begrudge giving up a slot for this but in the beluga a DC just seems right, its the only ship i have with a DC and ive no plans to put one in any of my other ships.

You need to be MUCH more precise when landing now. No idea why (passengers?). Even the tiny Sidewinder became a PITA...

Before 2.2 bouncing from a landing pad happened from time to time but now it happens every time (cutter, FGS, python). Very annoying.
I wonder whether it's a bug or a feature.
