Docking Request Denied (repeatedly.....)

So, landing at outposts is a chance thing now with the amount of players right?

It sucks to be honest. Love the game, this is my only major gripe.

I limp back to the nearest port after a messy fight leaves me with a 12% damage remaining! YESSSSS - I make it, chuffed and relieved to have made it out of there alive.

*DOCKING REQUEST DENIED*

Wait what? ****. I try again, and again, for 15 minutes.


I have just had a quick session for an hour and have yet to be able to dock in anything other than a huuuuuuuuuuuge spaceport.

Is there anything coming for this, like an increase in how many people can dock there? Or is this just a permanent "feature" - ie, wait around and hope you will be able to find a space?

Ok heres what you do. Go to the outpost screen and target the station, then retry the permission to land. If that doesn't work..go to the main screen and lock on to another place..then relock onto the station again. then try get permission. When you are landing on the platform,..if the tick tick tick doesn't go off with the close proximity alarm,..then go stationary and de lock the station landing count down then immediately ask for permission again..it will give you the same landing site that your hovering over and the tick tick tick should start. If it's the same problem that I experience every now and then it's a glitch...but I also only play solo.

Easy way to go about docking at a small port, just spam the hell out of the request docking button. Eventually you'll get it.

Or, log out, go into solo play, and try again. Solo play is probably the easiest way to do it.

This could be happening for a couple different reasons.
1) the station is too full. there is supposed to be code in there that makes and NPC get out fast if commanders show up. If there are other commanders, you're all waiting.
2) you are too far away. the station will tell you to approach to less than 7.5 km to request docking.

Goto solo mode and dock.
Then try flying further out from systems jam packed and you never get these issues.

It's not like I am deliberately choosing these small ones. One was just because it was close, the other few were because I had cargo to deliver! Aborted the mission in the end as the timer was running out before I would play again anyway.
