Docking Request Denied....WHY?

I really hate how it doesn't inform you as to WHY you can't dock sometimes, is there a ship in dock? Why doesn't it tell me so, some of the lack of information not given in the game is just mind boggling.

Were you within 7.5km of the station? If you are outside that you will be denied.

It tells you to come within range though.

No reason on the deny really is just the pad being in use.
Which can easily be checked by flying up to them + you'll be closer to land once it's free.

If you're withing 7.5km range and get that, then there's a ship on the pad(s) you could land on. A frequent problem at some outposts.

On the bright side I very often find that the ship docked is wanted, so I can scan them as they disembark and get a tidy little bounty to turn in, all for a 200Cr fine.

I think it add risk. Let say your a smuggler and you get that Docking Request Denied. It give a little fear to those players.

Note. I have seen ships exit port and it the reason why docking request was Denied.

This is the answer. Give it a few for someone to leave and you will be able to dock. NPCs don't typically hang out long

If you're at an outpost, generally means its full
If you're at a dock, then its either full (in open on a busy station possible), you're found wanted and denied, or out of range

Oh it was an outpost, was well within the 7.5 range, NOTHING on the pads, nothing in the pads that I could see on the radar/target spam, had to jump out and back in for it to let me dock. Just a simple 'PAD IN USE' message would make things so much better for odd situations like that.

I notice this happens regularily now in solo since 1.4 prior to 1.4 I had never had a docking request turned down. On the plus side its the first time I have been able to make a cup of coffee while still logged in.:)

What ship were you flying? Outpost can't accommodate ships that require a large landing pad.
Oh, and I agree. If you were flying a Clipper or a T7, you should get a reason stating your ship is too big to land.

I was flying my newly purchased FAS. I was there to turn in a delivery contract and was kind of perplexed by the denials, figured the game was intelligent enough to not give delivery contracts to outposts that can't accomodate your vessel, I could be wrong though.
