Docking request denied

At an Orbis station... Now, I was within 7.5km (and actually tried again right outside the slot). Denied. Multiple times.

On occasion I have had dock requests not go through, no reply... but these attempts tonight got a reply "docking request denied" in the direct chat from the station.

I am playing in Open, but there were only 3 CMDRs including myself, so I doubt it was like at an outpost when all bays are full...

Solved by jumping back into SC and dropping back to station. Request granted first try. (Same instance as one of the CMDRs I recognized the gamer tag from before I jumped up)

Any ideas? Bug/glitch? Or do all stations have a pad count that can be full? If pads can be filled, I have been operating under incorrect ideas that could only happen at outposts.

Not a big deal. Just curious.

Yep, they can be full and it can be NPC's that fill them up

With the number of pads in an Orbis, it doesn't surprise me that you've never seen this before, but yes, it's possible that all of the pads can be filled in a station.

Yeah... I have had it happen countless times at outposts (medium pad, another CMDR docked)... I suppose I should have realized the possibility... I guess I just took it for granted.

The plus side is that at least you know the base is ripe with ships carrying their wares about... if you're into a bit of piracy, that is

In over 6 months I have never had that happen in a orbis. Lot of times in a outpost (especially with time deadline..lol)

Will keep this in mind

I am more into murder :D and I have some personal rules I follow about who I murder...

Yep, I only play on Solo mode and I still get it from time to time with NPC's on Outposts. Never usually takes that long though, but would be nice that they told you, you were waiting in a queue and your number...

This happens to me all the time in open, with any type of station. I'd say 1 in 4 docking attempts. Very rarely happens in solo, so if I'm docking, I typically just switch to solo because that stupid docking request denied message makes me nerd rage. Never thought it could be a bug, then again it happens even when I'm the only one in the instance, which is absolutely idiotic. Especially if I decide to wait for 5 minutes for a ship to leave, or for my start menu to pop up- whichever happens first... either way I'm waiting.
