Does Anaconda have better survivability than the Python?

I'd say it depends on how you want to play, you COULD keep your Python, but if you're like me you'll have a passion for the larger ships.

I bought this build: https://coriolis.io/outfit/anaconda...j4yuqg===.CwBhCYy6QRlm1zgMw1UA?bn=Dream Conda

With Li discount I have enough for 3 rebuys & full cargo!

You don't need much to get a strong enough build. Yeah of course it's not PvP strong, but it's absolutely fine at trading and has strong sheilds.

I'm sure for 250M you can get an either better build.

But as I say, buy it depending on how you want to play. If you want to feel like you're flying a giant yacht/cruise liner, then seriously get this ship, it doesn't disappoint.

Hi Annie owners,

Yes... but...

If you are in a larger ship, you are going to get [mission] interdicted by larger vessels. So although you'll be in a better position to take that FDL, it is more likely to be replaced with a Corvette or a wing if you are in a 'Conda.

Trying to outgun the AI by moving to larger ships is not a good policy. If there is already a disparity between yourself and the AI, it can become more pronounced by upping the stakes, and is not necessarily decreased. Plus: More rebuy expense.

Given that 250m isn't going to buy a maxxed out Anaconda, and the sheer annoyance of large-pad-only designs, I'd try to stick with the Python and tune it up a bit.

I upgraded to an Anaconda (after spending a long time in my Python), outfitted with about 150m had about 30m left after making it decent enough (armour, shields, mining outfit).

Got hammered by some bugged super weapon AI shortly after buying it, ended up getting rid of it and getting back to my Python. Where I still am (and happy). Nothing really special about the Annie off the bat, in my opinion.

My advice - save up a lot more than 250m cr.

Shadowtracer did a good post 2.1 video about how to fit a Python to deal with new NPC AI. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zs29X1J_Is8

I followed that as well as did the same on my Anaconda - which is basically fit some turrets (pulse on my Annie with efficiency mod) and burst on Python.

This counters part of the lumberyness of both ships, as you still get hits on ship whilst you turn to line up the rest of your armaments.

This worked off th bat for everything up to Deadly NPCs.e

Now my Annie has shields, and shield booster mods as well as Dirty Drives 3, efficient pulses and an FSD upgrade, I can dance about an Elite NPC and eventually take it down.

I love both Python and Anaconda, so I'd personally advise you to keep the Python next to the Anaconda as I often switch between these two.
Anyways, the Conda is when A-rated much better in terms of suvivability than even the superb A-rated Python. But she's somewhat slower and off course less agile. I personally found that I had to get a feeling for the Anaconda, as there is quite a bit of difference in the flightmodel, but once you know how to handle her and she's fitted just right for the role you want her to do, she can do anything better than the python except landing at Outposts.

Here's my Conda outside her (current) home port:

Hi Annie owners,
I currently use a general purpose python for transport missions, etc. I have about 250m credits and I am thinking about going for an Anaconda.

Recently I seem to be getting jumped by NPC FDL quite often. Sometimes I win but sometimes I dont and I run.
Is the anaconda too slow for someone that will run? Or does it have stronger shields and hull that can improve its survivability over the Python?

I will still keep the python as I do like it for medium pad landings etc.

Just wondering whether I should just do the engineer grind to try and up the python's capability or go play in an annie and feel more confident.

Get the Annie and in a few hours you can earn enough to buy two more Pythons if you want to.

I have both python and conda, once modded the conda will eat thru anything you put in its path, while still making you a ton of creds. I love both ships and a good modded python should take down any number of threats. That said i would lean to wards the Anaconda just becuase it is what i use to make my creds, best so far is 70m in one run which took around 40-50 minutes. I fit both my ships with a haul and brawl build so full weapons 6a reinforced shields, boosters, and DD5. i mainly go for full cargo once i get around the shield so python has around 182 with a 6a reinforced shield, conda around 350tons.

If you get the anaconda just grade a its thrusters stick a class 6a shield on it with boosters, then go get ur fsd, dirty drives and shields upgraded, with this you can then start making money and pretty much upgrade your ship in the least time possible. Just make sure you have enuff creds for a couple of rebuys, you can pretty much d rate the rest of the stuff until you start earning.

This is my Mission Running Python.

It's Basically Invincible.
You can switch out the minor internals and weapons to suite your needs, with limpets, SRVs, hatch breakers, etc.
But basically, I just tanked 2 cruisers and 5-6 ships in a CZ in it, and lived. Easily.
Lol
(Obviously I didn't kill then all, I ran like a wuss, but i know when I'm outmatched! The point is I didn't die in seconds!)

There's no military armour, and she uses a modded 6A PP, which keeps the rebuy costs down.
The shield boosters are lightly modded, and she has Dirty Drives 3, and FSD Range 5.
And that's about it for mods.

DO NOT BUY a Anaconda with 250m. It will make you cry right into the massive salt bucket that is the forums.

Truth. You will probably get blown up at least once in your new Anaconda and my Annie is currently valued at well over 600 million so, 30 million insurance rebuy and I have had mine blown up at least twice. Once by some pinhead who blew up my (at the time) unarmed ship with no cargo in it for no reason other than to be a tiny richard. If I sold my Annie I would be a credit billionaire but not gonna happen!

Either is fine when outfitted properly. It's worth even doing the the grade 1 upgrades with the engineers and its very easy to do. Armour and shields get a nice little boost for the small effort.

I decided to play with the engineers to upgrade aspects of the Python. Man there is just not enough info on the page when you roll, unless I am missing something.
I see the sliders bounce around and it shows stuff in red and blue on the right, but there should really be a list of all stats showing with and without the mod, like there is when buying it so my dumb brain can work out if it really is an improvement. But that's another story.
