Does anybody know how the hitbox is accounted for?

More specifically: does the shape of the hitbox match the shape of a ship, or it is a simple rectangular shape using the ship's dimensions, i.e. a L*W*H calculation?

Not as crude as that.

There was only one image released by FDEV (unless I missed others) to illustrate the hit-boxes of a Courier, so that can give an idea of what other ships might consist of.

P.S. Yellow for internal modules, blue for external ones.

P.P.S. You also have to take into account splash damage, penetration etc. All more than I can remember / explain.

The shape of the shield bubble, or if the ship currently lacks shielding, the shape of the hull (apparently including cosmetics), with specific areas for modules (along with rules for penetration chance and depth).

It should be noted that they removed the ability to damage thrusters by hitting the thruster ports a long time ago (back in 2015, iirc). Since then you can only damage thusters by hitting the main drives.

Thank you, but this concerns modules, what about the hull? I can't remember of a graph or explanation telling u if the hitbox matches the shape or not.
