Does anyone actually use the Orca ?

I never see anyone mention it, and many Elite wiki sights only have a stub for the Orca, as if no one has even submitted any info on it.

The great shipyard config website:
http://www.edshipyard.com/

..doesn't even have the Orca ship listed (the only ship available not currently listed I think!), indicating little use in game and no one submitting info for it.

Any fans out there?

Ill buy one soon.

Since i have my type 9 it seems easy to trow money out the window for no reason.

Just imagine the face of those killed by a fully armed orca...

I hope to use it as an exploration ship at some point because I'm a bit tired of the small cockpits on the smaller ships. The Orca isn't on Elite Shipyard yet though so I have no idea if the maximum LY jump or the fuel tank capacity would make it worthwhile.

Nope. Just picked mine up. With an A5 FSD you're looking at maybe 17LY unencumbered, with a 16T fuel tank

Ah that's unfortunate. It looks like the Anaconda is the only genuine option after the ASP.
Depends what you want to do. Python is the better combat vessel, T9 does trading better than the Conda but has a lot smaller jump range, so it might cancel out the larger cargo room. Anaconda is basically a Cobra on steroids.

Exploration, where the fuel tank and jump range is of greatest importance.

I have to say, that cockpit (bridge, really) is bloody gorgeous.

Yeah, she's pretty. And an absolute joy to fly, even with D class thrusters. And after the clipper it's nice to have a ship I can take the shields off if I want and not poop a little every time I go through the docking bay door.

still. Not what I'd call an upgrade. Something you fly because "damn it, it's my free time, I wanna fly an orca!"

Just be wary of CMDR Ahab...
