Does anyone else not have enough conservation credits to buy lions for the community challenge?

I only have one lion, which used up nearly all of my conservation credits. I don't have enough conservation credits to purchase a second lion and they never come up to buy with cash. The only animals I can buy for cash are the really common ones that sell for hardly any conservation credits. So I don't see how I will ever get enough to buy a second lion to breed so I can join in the community challenge before it is over. And if I don't join in, I won't get any conservation credits as a reward, putting me even further behind. I was really looking forward to the community challenges. Does anyone else have this problem? And can anyone suggest a solution? Thank you.

I can't afford them either. I'm trying to breed my elephants to sell the babies for cash, but they won't breed. Selling the more common babies isn't adding up fast enough to be able to afford lions either

i wont' be helping out with this community challenge, it appears

Ditto 😕

I haven't used any of my credits, since I'm scared I'll run out.

Yes, it's difficult to know which animals are the best buy with the credits. I wanted to join in the community challenge so I got the lion. I was lucky to get him with the extortionate prices that are being charged. But now can't get a female! 😂

Anyway, they are now going to be adding a new offline franchise mode which is cool. But that doesn't solve the problem of being priced out of the community challenges! Maybe they'll come up with some tweaks to improve the online market too 😊

It seems to me that the females are more likely to have poor stats to make things more challenging as the male cubs don't seem to be affected the same way. I'd like to put more females up but I'm having to use them to replace my ageing breeding stock.

What animals have you got?
The only real way to make them at the moment is to buy, breed and then sell or release, so you want to pick something that breeds and grows quickly or that has large litters. Gharials worked well for me in the beginning because of that, as well as tortoises, but they both have fairly long grow times before you can sell so it is a time investment.
Lemurs breed well, and although you don't get much for them (just checked, a bronze 4.9 female has a default trade price of 19 and release of 7) at a time, they do add up.

I don't think I would recommend many of the larger animals if you want to gather credits. Elephants, rhinos and hippos breed slowly and grow slowly. They're good as long term projects but not if you want credits quickly.

If you have enough cash, get 2 large Nile Lizards exhibits or more. (African Dogs are good too)
They breed like crazy.

Don't sell them, just send them back to the wild.. I got 100-120 CC with every new round (not sure with the change in breeding, if this still works)
It should give you a start..

Atm I donated 46 lions.. (yes, it involved a lot of inbreeding)
And I also sold quite a few of them. Mostly around 250, except for the 'gold' lion with really good stats.. They go for 750-1000 and they are gone really fast.

i've been trying. i have breeding populations of ostrich, peafowl, nile monitors, gharials, elephants, rhinos, hippos, zebra, gembsok, and sable antelope.

But i've had several male mates die recently and that has really hindered my breeding, since i now i have to try and get new males to continue and my male elephant has super low fertility and refuses to mate with any of hte females

Save at least one of the male baby animals and one of the female baby animals, it doesn't matter if they are brother and sister. Yes its gross, but you can send their babies off to the market. Keep repeating that cycle every time their parents are near death.

Same here. I could not buy a pair of lions even if I wanted to pay those ridicoulous amounts of conservation credits.
I see no solution other than some rework in the online franchise system.

I think most will work out when everybody (which included people who only bought the base-game) is online.

If the market by December still has issues, maybe a rework then.

I've been thinking about this and I realised that part of the problem is being in a rush to experience all the things, because of only having 2 weeks for the beta, and not being able to play as often as I would like, whereas other people are obviously able to play a lot more. When the full game is released, it might take time to build up your franchise (which I'm completely fine with, I really want this to be challenging) but once things are up and running and you have lots of different animals, the conservation credits will start rolling in and you will be able to join in the community challenges eventually, because you will probably have the necessary animals in your franchise by then anyway. So I'm just going to forget about this challenge and have fun with all the other stuff (which is frankly amazing) during the beta. And then we'll all be starting again with a clean slate come November, but perhaps a little more experience on how to get a good franchise up and running. 😊 I'm off to breed some African wild dogs that I purchased last night! 🐕🐕🐕🐕🐕🐕

I sell a lot of animals for conservation points. It's a normal marketplace. Demand and supply determines the price.

  1. Find an animal species that is rarely sold.
  2. Keep an eye out for Frontier offers. If necessary, check the market every 15 minutes.
  3. Buy the rare animals for money.
  4. Frontier often offers animals for money instead of conservation points.
  5. Breed the rare animals and sell them for conservation points.

If the animals do not reproduce, then compare the partners with each other.

If everything is ok and still no offspring is born, then create a new zoo (that helped me).
It is a lot of work to breed animals and very time consuming. But this way enough conservation points can be accumulated.

Extra tip: If you find an animal in the market that seems very cheap to you, then buy it and sell it again directly for a higher price.
Extra tip 2: As you can see, the Lemurs are very rare today. If you breed them, I'm sure you can charge 500 - 800 for a golden one

It also really fluctuates atm.. Yesterday bought a 'Gold' African Wild dog for 40-50 CC, today I saw a lot of 200 CC for golden ones..

Yesterday a 'bad' African Wild dog was approx. 10CC, now they are 50 CC.

Agree and disagree with this one.. I actually sold a lot of lions for a lot cheaper than they are worth. Just to allow them to get a lion. If people resell them for the actual price, it slows down the market. But agreed, it's an easy way to earn CC.

The time comsuming aspect is the problem unfortunately. I'm just not able to play the game that much (health reasons not time reasons). But as I said in my previous post, come November I will feel less rushed and be able to steadily build a franchise. So I'm quite happy with that now I've thought about it. Thanks very much for your tips, I will definitely bear them in mind when building up a franchise on release in November.

I find the system with the credits and the market a bit strange too. While I have no problems getting CCs so far, I find it difficult to assign what would be a fair price for an animal when I put it up for sale. Don’t want to go to low or high, but I have no indication what would be a good price. Also I fear this currency will be subject to massive inflation.

Yes, I understand that. But at the end I need 5 ingame hours for many Conservation points I can earn in one day. You also need 5 hours and have to split them into several matchdays.

The ingame time remains the same. If necessary you have to increase the game speed. I don't see any mistake in balancing here.

Lemurs are very rare today, there are hardly any offers. I would test the market here with 800 for gold, 700 for silver, 600 for bronze and 400 for a normal one.

The in game time remains the same, yes, but actually my post is about taking part in the community challenge, which is happening in real time, so your point doesn't apply. BUT as I said, come release it shouldn't be a problem for me to join in the community challenges once I have built up a franchise, so I'm perfectly happy. 😊
