I doubt you will want to fly a passenger carrying Orca in open, at least not without dedicated escorts...Dont know why its in the game at this point though...this is something that should have been in the game when the passenger things get released. Instead of the Orca there could be another combat ship between the Asp and Python...possibly Alliance rep in the 17-22 mil range or unaligned.

but yeah..currently dumb.

The Fed Dropship should have moderate firepower, at least enough to defend itself...but SHOULD have massive shields or armor...after all, veteran combat troops cost tons of money and time to train. Worth there weight in more then gold...it would make sense for the Fedrop to be able to take a beating and still get in and out. Ive read a lot of Harrington and the rest of the more epic ship base scifi, and thats usually what dropships roles are: Delivering and picking up troops in a hot LZ.

I'm going to evaluate it's ramming performance when I can afford one. No one expects hostile Orca.

My asp got rammed by an orca. It wasn't pretty...
