Engineers Does anyone know when ED are implementing the favours for engineer modding?

Is this the PAY for upgrade addition I read about? I am all for this addition since I am totally underwhelmed by the current system of Fetch Quests and gambling. was really excited about being able to upgrade my ship, but the amount of tedium currently involved with no guarantee of a positive result is just too much for me to bother with.

I tried two FSD Grade 1 attempts at Farseer and both failed to do anything to my existing jump range. To say I was annoyed by having wasted all that time finding all the stuff and then the 18 jumps to get to the base for nothing, well... that would be the understatement of the century! ;)

Until they revamp the system and bring some common sense to the process, Engineers is dead to me.

You have every guarantee of a positive result unless you choose overcharged basically which is about the only recipe with a big enough drawback that your new version might not constitute an upgrade. That being said some of the tier 1's are horrible as you rightly mention - if your still interested in the engineers i'd recommend skipping tier 1 and 2 entirely if you can it only takes a few crafts of whatevers cheapest to get them past it, or you can give them exploration data/commodities/bonds etc

Thanks for the info. I think I am going to just wait to see what FD does with the whole thing before I waste any more time on it. I technically got an FSD boost, but it was so small, that it basically had zero effect on my stock range, so for all intents and purposes, it gave me nothing tangible in terms of improved range.

That experience was VERY negative for me. Soured me on the entire thing immediately, and I have lost all desire to bother with it since.
