Does anyone miss mission board diversity?

Since its been 2 patches now with the mission selection stuck on dumb and dumber.. time to raise the topic.

In 2.3, missions that were generated actually varied in type.

- The bases economy and controlling faction actually made a difference in the mission types available.
- The state of the minor faction (in particular the active states) made a difference. This still seems to be the case, but not as dramatically.. eg, in the past, mission types would ONLY be available during an active state.

This created a fun minigame of looking at the bgs attributes of stations, systems and their factions, and trying to guess whether a type of mission would spawn there. If you added extra requirements as stackability or superpower rep to what you were looking for, you had a decent (and very rewarding) challenge there.

Now it seems that every kind of mission appears on every kind of station. You can get every kind of reward for every kind of mission. It was a more fun world where the occurrence of these (eg skimmer missions) was limited, but if you took care to find them you'd have nothing but boards full of them as the prize for your effort. 2.3 connected the mission machine to the bgs perfectly.. i wish we could go back to something similar.

ps. The worst part is the complete trashing of the rp ground salvage missions. These were so much fun because there was zero combat, and you had the choice of picking up that illegal salvage that was also there. Their niche of being the only high rep missions is also gone, and you don't seem to be able to find multiples of these to stack anymore either.

Sure do.

I am in a system crawling with Thargoids and a working station. Why are there no "Defend this station from Thargoid" kill missions?
