Horizons Does anyone think that you might be able to trade with Thargoids or even befriend them?

they have a language and you can even initiate romance options

Errr...Insect species...errr!?

Will this just be this stupid alien faction that always attacks you no matter what, or will there be interesting gameplay involving the Thargoids where we can trade and maybe team up with them. As a pirate, I'm on the other side of the law a lot, meaning I'm hostile with a few factions and powers. I don't plan on fighting the Thargoids, so does anyone think you'll be able to at least be neutral with them? Think of the things Frontier could introduce! Thargoid engineers, Thargoid commodity markets, an entire Thargoid language to learn, and maybe some of their weapons or stations.

Would be an interesting gameplay mechanic for very rare smugglers.[alien]

It would add depth, but I already suspect it's going to be war. Irresistible for the developers adding content the cost less and easy way. Maybe there is hope for a resistance.

All out war could be epic. Explorers scouting out the enemy FOB's and behind the line supply bases. Pirates interrupting supply lines, miners and traders rebuilding stations that are destroyed, epic battles that are scheduled. The list goes on.

I offered something that might add to that.
I would love to see Worm Holes be used as a device to head into Witch Space should a war with the Thargoids erupt. Imagine this: You and your friends meet up at a station for some resupplies, fuel, and maintenance. When everyone is ready, you head off to a system that is reported to have a WH. One of you deploys a module that can open the WH up into Witch Space (Maybe called an Interactor), and everyone dives in. After a brief "translation", you drop into Witch Space ready to fight. After much screaming and panicking, you barely manage to get out alive.

I'd like to see a scenario where we are fighting for survival of our species, with cmdrs playing a rear guard action while evacuation takes place. I see a place for outfitting ships to take refugees to stations that are about to take flight.
We won't be defending the Bubble, it's too big, we'd be defending colonia area. Personally I'd be on the lookout for the Imp/pirate and Fed leaders ships...I'd help the aliens take them out.
Frankly, it's time to gather creds, there's gonna be a lot of rebuying before ED gives us the means to defend ourselves.

Evidence: The Dolphin - A cheap (ish) personnel carrier with a good jump range.

The DBX getting some much needed TLC
The easiest engineer to open is an FLS engineer
The latest Galnet report saying the Imps have moved into the Maia area and "claiming" it. One assumes that they want all the meta-alloys, which are in all probability Alien tech/property.

slowly the dominoes are being set up to fall.

It won't matter what the alien attitude is, considering the number of pew-pew addicts in the game, the aliens will be forced into a war.

I'm currently working on something to add to the Suggestion Forums. I've got some new weapon ideas, and some new modules that I'm trying to brew up. Trying to work Power Play-like mechanics into my general idea, as well, that would be easier to get into all while opening up new gameplay opportunities and missions.

Also, The Empire moving into Maia is going to set off a war. The Federation isn't going to take kindly to a super power moving in and setting up a monopoly on alien tech.

Given the normal behaviour of most humans - confirmed in this thread - I don't think emigrating to Colonia will be far enough once the shooting starts.

Give me hull repair limpets and the means to craft them from materials and inhabited space will never see me again, should something like this occur. :D
