Does blast engineering work for mining? Does it pay to engineer a shield booster for blast resistance? Or is is like thermal next to a star and does little? :S

I did not test... but a shield generator does already provide a strong resistance vs. explosive munitions.

There is no need to... better to engineer RA or heavy duty depending on your build.

Bi-weave shields engineered to Grade 5 Thermal with 4 pips put in system can absorb the asteroid explosion at close range with ease. They even absorbed the ramming of an asteroid at near full speed.
