Does ED DTS Headphone X work on CV1 headphones?

I have just bought the CV1 - love it.

BUT

I notice the Rift's headphones don't seem to do the Elite's DTS Headphone X anywhere near as good as my other headphones

Reboot?

Or is this normal? If so, the Rift's headphones are off!

I would definitely recommend you use your own headphones for Elite. You want the absolute best immersion possible for VR so using a pair of cans is advisable. Just pop the rift ones on a shelf somewhere and forget about them

Plus I will be honest with you, I found the rift microphone to be quite poor and intermittent with VA.

On the contrary. CV1 headphones are fine and work well with DTS. The mic is also fine and works best if I set mic at 95% and do not shout but rather speak softly which also masks commands slightly if using mic in Multicrew. I'm a sound engineer and I do rate it to work very well and comfortably. Just don't get the straps on so tight that it leaves marks on ya head! I use audio on NORMAL MODE. The Courier however is bugged and is 2x the volume it should be. You can even hear the compression dynamics as it controls it.

Many thanks for the replies!

I think it must be my end then.

My basic test is to use the coms panel. In stereo (regardless of the hardware I am using) the panel tabs sound muted(?) and are just in the l/r channel but in 'surround' they are clear and definitely in front, slightly to the upper left (I was impressed by the illusion).
Also inside station sounds echo.

With my Hyper X 2s (I know they are no Sennheisers but) there is a definite difference. I didn't notice any with my Rift headphones.
Something is defo not right.

I did change the sound settings to add bass boost via W10 sound panel, which oculus did grumble about. I guess I ought to disable any 'enhancements'

Thanks again!

Yup. If using other fx it will certainly cause phase cancellation. Also try Public Test 1.15 as it rids flashes/jumps.
