If any of you are members of the WoT NA forum, you might recognize me and this topic/poll. Breaking the stereotype that all computer gamers are just unsightly, out of shape blobs, and formerly being an unsightly, out of shape blob growing up, I'm curious as to how many people in various gaming communities enjoy excising and what types of workouts they do.

Unfortunately unlike the WoT forums, the ED forum only permits one question per poll so I'll keep it to a general "Do you work out, and do you eat healthy?"

What types of work outs you do, how/what you eat/drink, ect. can be discussed in the thread and tips for others who want to get more fit are more than welcome :D

Thought I should edit this and be serious.

My job is strenuous enough to be a workout. I don't run or do any high impact stuff, it's too hard on the joints.
I like swimming, mountain biking and downhill skiing.
Diet is everything but in moderation. No white sugar, white flour or MSG.

Didn't put this in the OP because it was getting a little long.

I hit the gym 3 times a week and I mainly focus on strength building because I get my cardio from skateboarding from class to class on campus never mind, I forgot that someone ran over my board and almost ran me over yesterday, so treadmill it is until I can get that replaced. .-.

Diet wise, I eat a lot of salads, fruits, and lean proteins, but I carbo load before going to the gym. Water is my go to drink and I use a protein powder drink after a workout, but a soda every now and then is fine too. The most important thing I've found is that a bit of everything in moderation is key.

Since pound for pound muscle is more dense than fat it's not about seeing the weight on the scale go down, it's about seeing the weight on the bar go up. :D

I am an unsightly, out of shape blob.
I have always been so and probably will always be so.
sigh...

I chose I work out and eat healthy but only because it's closer to my current lifestyle than the other choices. I don't do it every day and I wear myself out pretty fast, but I try to spend at least 45 minutes a day on exercise/stretching and maybe 3 hours a week at my workplace's gym. Eating healthy... Ehh, I try. I did really well on a ketogenic diet last year and have tried to keep it up but it's not easy. I still eat as low carb as possible though. :)

The only exercise I actually enjoy is bicycling, but I currently don't have one and the area where I live doesn't really promote their use (too many hills, almost no flat land). I do about 10 miles on the stationary when I'm in the gym, though. I'd never say I enjoy exercising otherwise, but getting yourself lost in music while doing it definitely helps alleviate the boredom.

The poll would have been more detailed and the poll I did back on the WoT forum had more questions that went into detail, but as I said in the OP the ED forum only allows for one question per poll so I kept it generic.

In hindsight I realize I probably could have done more options with greater details but that would have been too much of a bear for me to write and you guys to read and answer, plus it would have detracted a bit from the conversation I think.

I'll happily trade the bit of middle age spread for beer, wine, cake, crisps and sausage rolls, but you will indeed leave a better looking corpse behind. :D

I cycle now and again... my food of choice is a kebab and something alcoholic on the side. :D

I'm not out of shape... so long as round is a shape. Ba-dum-tss. No, I'm not even that, a little extra weight.

heh, I'm by no means healthy.. but at the same time I'm not what one would call unsightly.

If you cut out the alcohol completely, you will probably be able to afford to buy your next PC upfront, as I have recently done.

Just saying. Drugs is a mugs game.

I eat pretty healthy (a few treats every now and then don't hurt), and I use my drums as exercise. I've actually lost 20lbs (9kg) over the last 3 months. :)
