Ships Does Etienne Dorn take occupied escape pods if they are marked as 'stolen'?

So, I discovered a planet about 1800LY away from Colonia which is littered with sites of distress signals and minor wreckage POI's. So i've been collecting from the sites and even seen that when I log out and back in, the sites reset and I can collect again. Only for some reason 17 of them are 'clean' and the rest are marked as 'stolen'. I'm not sure how I managed to get a mix of both, but I'm hoping that Etienne Dorn will accept the stolen ones also

Any clarification would be appreciated

I unlocked this questionable fellow last year, and by far the easiest way to do it is to find the nearby Megaship, use hatchbreakers on the cargo holds and then scoop up the ejected escape pods.

Looks like this is either bugged or has been "fixed" so you cannot do it anymore, tried in Oddy and Horizons, you cannot use a hatch breaker limpet on anything on that ship.
