No heat sink reammo...the one thing an explorer actually needs to resupply when thousands of light years away? This was done deliberately. Why was this the case?

It's not you being persecuted.
It is because Heat Sinks are also used extensively in PvP and manufacturing heat sinks would allow players to silent run indefinitely, and effectively ignore any heat penalties or thermal weapons. It would break the game.

Interesting, I had not considered this. Could they not just increase the cooldown (ironic term i suppose) time on using heatsinks though? Now I think when I used my Asp a while ago, I used to use the heatsinks to fire continuously for the best part of a minute.

Their nonexistent PvP is very important to them. :>

If you need heat sinks while exploring, you need to explore more : this is not the best way to deal with overheating when entering a barbecue system.

One of the most popular uses of a heatsink is to counter the heating effects of a SCB charge. Making heatsinks have a cooldown would interfere with this and devalue SCB's.

Yes I have them bound to the same command when I am kitted for combat. Given you cannot resupply SCB, I did not think that would be much of an exploit though.
If heatsinks had a cooldown you would not be able to use SCB's in rapid succession without cooking your ship. This would be bad for ships with large shield capacity or anyone under heavy fire.Yes I have them bound to the same command when I am kitted for combat. Well I know they are for emergencies, but the point still stands, why can they not be resupplied like everything else? Are they made from Unobtanium? I can hardly see why I would want to use any of the other synthesis options. I have been on a long journey, and it is annoying when you finally run out of heatsinks. Also, I have passengers on board who are already miserable, them losing more satisfaction to hull damage cold tip them over the edge![]()

You shouldn't really be spamming through them anyway. They're for those complete disaster moments.
If ammunition is crucial, then one of the new engineers does a mod which increases the ammo to 3 shots.
