Ships Does it Adder Up? Adder Enthusiast Club

These seem to be all the rage now, so we might as well have an owners/enthusiasts club for them. My other ship is a Fer-de-Lance stickers and all. Like all other ZPG ships, they hark back to the ancient days of spaceflight and the early space planes. The retro looks give them class and charm modern wedges and blocks lack, while still being functionally good in atmospheres.

The interior is nice and cosy, less abrasive looking than those Faulcon deLacy or Lakon competitors.

I think they're rather cute.

With the new enhanced thrusters, they're also pretty fast.

I really want to find a niche for an enhanced drive Adder in my fleet. I bought one for kicks a while back, and she's a beauty to fly. One of the best small ships, it seems.

I do like the Adder....... apart from the cockpit view it feels a bit claustrophobic but with engineers I'll probably give it another look, 3 x efficient m-cannons might be an interesting loadout (just fitted 7 to my FGS, a ton apparently according to the chap on utube ;))

I love my adder as well. It was the first vessel I bought coming from the Sidewinder and boy is she a beauty. In my opinion she was the true first multirole vessel which allowed me to effectively run missions, haul a decent amount of cargo, have sufficient survivability and gave me my first tastes in terms of mining and exploring too. I guess my Adder is looking a bit sad now, sitting on a pad in Mckee Ring I believe, but I could never bring me to selling her even after she had gotten me to the Cobra.

The view could be better, but otherwise I love it as it is reminds me to an airliner cockpit. :)
I also want to upgrade mine, had it better fuel scoop, I'd even go exploring with it.

i still own my Adder. i explored in it to finance my first AspE. later on, it was a great salvage mission and smuggling ship.

looking for role for it, too - i tried engineering the hell out of it in beta, but there is only so-much you can make of it.

maybe, with passenger missions, it will fulfill its ingame described job as a "shuttle"?

i even have paintjobs for it - and it is called marvin.

I too, love the Adder, its secret weapon however is its handling, makes it a surprisingly good fighter.

It's because it's really a vessel which was meant to go aboard carriers.

carriers? yes carriers.
just look at it's folding wings if you deploy the landing gear.

I'm taking one to Bubble nebula just for something different to do. Like the OP I have an FDL and pretty much everything else but I am enjoying crossing the galactic arm in my hillbilly jalopy. It's going to earn me a fortune as well; it has a jump of 23LY with an SRV

I love the luxury feel to the cockpit, I stow a srv bay in my adder for those ground missions that pay really well. a rated it performs well with about 16 Ly range. I tried exploring in it but it made me nervous as it felt flimsy, to soft for extended ops beyond the bubble. I still love it though, if only the cobra had something like the adder's interior then I'd be happy.

Its a great ship for running courier missions, or some light smuggling. With simple engineers upgrades (lvl 1 FSD, Dirty drives) you can get reasonable jump range, and on a good roll boost speeds over 560. I just jump from system to system picking up Fed courier missions wherever I go, and so far for me its proven the fastest way to grind rank. With 16T cargo, it also is my best tool for salvage missions

Advanced drives really breathed new life into the Adder. It becomes the 'all rounder' of the small ships, as it can carry more than the Eagles, but benefits more from the drives than the Viper 3 (which is too heavy to get the best use).

Exactly my thoughts. I only wish she had one more internal. That would make everything so much easier. :)

I still occasionally take her to Aditi and we do some missions, so she doesn't get rusty.
It's a great little ship. And folding wings! Where else can you see that?

Yeah, I had that problem as I didn't have room to have an SRV with all the other stuff I put in. One more class 1 would do, just for putting on the canners.

Very happy owner here. I'm getting a 37ly jump range and 640+ boost with Dirty drives out of mine with Lightweight 91 Mj shields out of mine. Of course fitting even heat sink launcher sap's the jump range ridiculously, same for weapons. Still perfect for zooming around the bubble very quickly and getting out of danger in Solo/Private. Imagine I wouldn't last 5 seconds in open of course.

And yeah, it's a insanely cute little ship, basically the ship equivalent of one of these babies...
