Does it matter where exploration data is sold? (not price, but other effects)

I know it makes no difference to the money you make, but...

Does it make a difference for where it is available to be bought?

Does it make a difference to the background simulation? (Eg. economic effects?)

Are there reputation effects?

...and if the answer is negative, (I summon ye, devs, thrice I summon ye, by name, by deed, by blood I summon ye!) are there any plans to make it matter?

For RP reasons it feels wrong to sell data in some places, but at the same time as long as exploration data is lost with ship destruction I don't want to ferry it longer than I have to unless there's a reason to.

as far as i can tell, once someone has sold data for somewhere it is purchasable, but i'm not sure whether you canb buy data only on local systems or from literally anywhere.

it does add rep for you depending on who owns the station.

i've got nearly friendly in one place based on selling exploration data

How do you know that you "nearly" did if it goes right from neutral to friendly, and there's no way of knowing how close you are to going up a reputation level? Lol.

Although, I too have seen the up arrow next to the reputation of the faction owning the space station where I sell my data each time.

I 'discovered' styx yesterday... Dont think i was first there!!

I find it helps to view astronomical data like your cars sat nav. The data set is limited. It can be added too, and the data can be improved in detail. Each ship has an individual data set, and when you buy a ship its unlikely to come with the most up-to-date data.

Selling data for previously discovered systems also does not reward as much. Thats the intention I believe anyways.
