Does it Take Less Skills to Play Elite Dangerous Than Star Citizen and No Man's Sky?

Gawd, that sounds so tedious I'm falling asleep already. I wish I found endless resource grinding "chill," tho. Would certainly make work more amusing.

Boring, tedious, grind. These are all really ways of saying the same thing. That you don't enjoy (that aspect of) the game in question.

Overall I find Civ VI a tremendous bore. But lots and lots of people clearly love it. So what, who cares? Do, watch and play what you enjoy.

As for the OP video, that he thinks ED players have never played an FPS, and that in his mind this means he and his cohort are more of an uber warrior speaks volumes about him and says nothing much about anything else. And that's fine. Who really cares. And if you do, maybe ask yourself 'why does it bother me'. The answer might surprise you.

I honestly don't understand these kind of videos. What is even the point that the author is trying to get across?

It's like asking if the Witcher 3 is an easier game than Skyrim. Who cares? Too busy loving both to notice or caring about which one was easier.

I have now played ED for more than 1 thousand hours. If Star Citizen ever releases, I pretty sure I will play it to smithereeens as well. I dont think I will ever stop to think "which is easier", all I care is if I'm having a good time playing them.

I've got lots of hours in both games and they are very different. I would say NMS is probably more fun and a chill out experience. ED more like work with eye candy and an excellent flight model and sound effects.
Shame some Elite fanbois can't be graceful when it comes to comparisons.

True of some fanbois everywhere and sadly true in real-life. It seems that it's magnified on the internet where some people talk 'at' others in a manner they would never do face-to-face, and of course on the internet we can't hear the other person's tone of voice, see their expression or even tell if they are a native-language speaker. It all comes in to play.

I don't dwell on many forums but some are better than others - the GSC-Games STALKER forum I used to be active on always seemed (generally) to be very supportive and pretty good-natured, whereas a musicians' 'gear forum' (not naming it) I used to be active in could get horribly toxic and I didn't stay long. Life's too short.

So, I can completely understand why some companies (eg Hello Games) don't want to run their own forums. I'm not sure I would in their shoes. I actually think that the FDev forum overall isn't that bad - and I do think the moderators here actually do a very good job, and seem to stay on the right side of reasonable. ( Except Tj, natch.)

All said, we all make mistakes and I have posted intemperately a few times, particularly in the heat of the moment. We're all human.

Sorrry, second beer, dinner cooking, so I'm in full ramble.

Racing Sim fans can be heavily toxic as well, best not to even mention football! LOL! I agree about the anonymity of the internet and communication issues (guilty myself at times).

I was an Elite fanboi once (still am, for the older games), but Frontier beat that out of me over the course of several years. So I do try and understand where they're coming from.

But still. Even though I don't play the game any more - I still post on here from time to time. It's a good forum, and generally civil.

And I enjoy a good rant sometimes too.
