Does Navy Rank stack past 100%

Does Navy Rank queue up past 100%?

Lets say I've reached Marquis 100% and I've not seen any Navy missions (haven't really gone looking yet) to progress to Duke, but I've continued to run "missions of interest" for reasons. Does the progress continue to stack in the background. So when I do get a Navy mission I could easily pop into 23% of Duke?

OR

Is my progress stagnant until I actually get promoted into Duke rank and then proceed?

Yea they do. I've been at 100% on a rank for a while. When i got my rank mission i was already at 100% the next rank. So keep going OP they do stack

Yep, and in my experience(it may have changed since then) I used to stack the ascension missions too. Not that those missions would grant the next rank per say but they seemed to offer more super power rep increase than normal minor faction missions. I noticed this doing empire rep, and decided to test and went to Tamar and took smuggling missions to the outpost there in system in a python. Stacked until my cargo was full. I skipped over several ranks doing those. And one load took me near 50% through duke to prince when l was working for that cutter
