Does rebuying your ship repair your paint?

I got my Python blown up yesterday. My fault, insured and all. Not worried about that.

But tonight I noticed that the paintwork is on 99%. This I am annoyed with.

Is there an option of not getting your paintwork repaired on the rebuy screen?

I repair the paint on my Orca and Imperial ships. but otherwise just let it wear off naturally. The Python gets so much use it's been at 0% for some time now.

I love worn paint. I wish we could fix it 10% at a time rather than the binary 0%- 100% we have.

Unfortunately, after a rebuy, your ship has a pristine coat of fresh paint. It's one reason I try really hard not to lose my ship. I like the worn look. However, I plan to repaint my ship for the Christmas holidays with a festive gold paintjob.

Here's what it currently looks like, with 0% remaining of a black and green paintjob. That's the tattered remains of a Distant Worlds Expedition decal.

Flying an Orca or Imperial ship with a shabby paint job would be just plain tacky

You can apply for a fake "used look" after flying in SC for about two hours in a straight line at max speed.

I have them, but the paints look rusty but not as worn as worn paint. I lost my Raider Viper to an SLF of all things, and have brand new rust again.

You got a new ship payed for by your insurance.
You honestly expect them to first scrape off the paint?
That makes no sense at all .

Annoying aint it? I spent AGES getting my paint down... then got destroyed and all that time wasted! I wish we could just choose the level of paint damage myself.
