Newcomer / Intro Does ship component availability change?

A few days ago I was excited to find an A4 shield for my Cobra but lacked the funds to buy it. I made a note of the location in my trusty ship's log.

After running a few errands and having some fun in a nearby RES, I returned a few days later with the necessary cash only to find no A4 module available.

Now, I admit that I may have had a senior moment, but I'm sure I'm in the right place.

Does anybody know if stations always sell the same ship parts or does availability change?

I am pretty sure it changes. Usually, you can find all the A-grade components by looking for a high-tech system.
In the galaxy map, in view, change over to map view and deselect everything but high tec. You should find what you need there.

It's a strange one, I have three main home bases for my large ships, all chosen because they stock all upgrades. 2 of them of them have stayed consistent for months, one of them started missing certain items a few weeks back.

Groombridge 34 used to be another main port of mine, it stocked all upgrades, now stock is pretty poor

I'm also sure it changes from time to time. High Tech Systems (and High Tech Stations in those systems) are good places to find the higher graded Modules.

Thanks for the suggestions. I don't get to put in much flight time, so haven't fully explored the area around my home planet. Will have a search for high tech stations.
