Does SRV's respawn in the bay when dead?

My SRV died, and when I looked at the bay it said "empty". then I flew back to a port, but when I went to outfitting and tried to buy another scarab, it said I already had one fitted? So it seems the destroyed scarab will respawn, but when exactly does this happen?

oh? ok but I never made another SRV, it just happened by itself. But I then tried to go to a installation again and the SRV now only had 41% hull. I drove around some bit, shot stuff etc, and it was down to 38%. I had landed my ship right in middle of the installation for fun (after destroying the defenses). I boarded the SRV into the ship and suddenly it had 100% hull. Not sure exactly what is going on, but it seems like I can make it come to 100% hull without using materials, or something? so I mean, its a bug? or just a mechanic I dont understand?

It can also be replaced when you click "restock" in the main station menu.

Its hull is fixed whenever you enter your ship, though its fuel is not.

Ah ha - that's just solved a mystery for me. At least once my srv has seemed to have replaced itself, now I know how. Thank you.

By coincidence, I was just wondering about this too.

I have 2 SRVs in my Viper 4 and I had one of them destroyed a few days ago.
So, I'm out for a spin in my Viper again today and i thought "Oh, blimey! I forgot I had an SRV destroyed. I must remember to replace that".
Upon landing and deploying an SRV, imagine my surprise when I find there are still TWO SRVs present and correct in my vehicle bay?!

No idea what I did to get the destroyed one replaced or when it happened.
I certainly didn't notice any surprisingly large expenses when refueling/repairing the Viper at any point.

My Viper gets into some fights so it regularly gets damaged and I regularly go to the "advanced" screen to repair the integrity.
Presumably, at some point, clicking "repair all" must have replaced the missing SRV. [blah]

according to NascentChemist it is the "restock" option that replaces the destroyed SRV. However when I did that I got the SRV back, but only with 41% hull... still a bit weird that it wasn't 100% hull? Especially if it's hull is supposed to be fixed by being in my vehicle bay, because that's what it was so... hmm.

Um, there's a bug with deploying fighters. Once a fighter becomes damage, newly launched fighters become immediately damaged too.

Maybe it's affecting SRV's as well?
