Elite / Frontier Does the Elite Series Deserve it's own Section

Sorry guys but had to do this.

As many of us have no doubt posted on these forums as a result of our interest ( was going to say love ) of the elite series do you feel it would benefit from it's own section?

I'm all for it as it would keep all us Eliteists ( or is there another name for those of us that are fans of the Elite games) from clogging up the other areas of the site dedicated to more recent games.

Hopefully the poll will be above so that you can all vote.

(if this has been done before please forgive me, suffering from sleep depravation because of the heat !!)

Nothing worse than a forum with 20 billlion sections all of them emtpy.. and you end up not knowing where to post!

Once again fair play on the replies. I don't think that an Elite area on the forums would be empty, quite far from it I think it would likely be one of the key forum areas within the site. I'm certain that quite a few may not have posted due to the lack of a dedicated area.

Hopefully in the near future the dedicated area will be organised....

I'd have to agree that a dedicated section would make sense - it seems that a lot of the posts in the "Frontier Game Discussion" seem to be Elite/Frontier related.

I also think an "Elite Series" forum would make a lot of sense, a lot of posts are about those games and it must be a bit confusing for somebody who's come here just to find out a bit more about Thrillville (that game is looking great btw).

Then it would probably be necessary to split it into an Elite section and a Frontier section, as they are quite different games.

aww, isn't that a bit of a stretch? FFE, Frontier, and Elite [and Elite 4] are all family! I propose they start out as one group, it makes more sense to branch once first, then branch again later if there truly emerges a need [i.e. Elite versus Elite 2: Frontier discussion].

Just the one for the whole Elite/Frontier thing would be fine in my opinion. Yes they are "different" games, but when you compare them with something like Roller Coaster Tycoon, they are clearly "the same thing" as it were.

Hopefully us Jameson fans will get what we want soon in our own area to talk about all things Elite without clogging up the other boards.

Hopefully when we are posting more about elite (legitimate posts) than the other games are posting then this shouldn't be an issue.

I for one am actively out there speaking to freinds who I know loved elite and what it did for the gaming community as a whole and hope that you are all doing the same.The more people we get on board the better in my opinion. Get out there get new members and get them to talk about the Elite series.

The sooner we get our own forum the better..

so.. I was just thinking..

assuming this idea holds water with FD, and they do create a new section, it'd be a great section to have a sticky for people to zoom in on when Real Authentic Official tidbits of Elite 4 news are released.

You know, people wouldn't have to scour all the forums tryna find the latest latest news. =)

[btw, why can't i say s_p_a_w_n? aren't new threads s_p_a_w_ned? s****]
