Does the game still drop you out a decent distance away from a binary?

I remember being told on a thread I created a while ago that where there is a chance of collision between the ship and one or more stars in a multi star system, the game will drop you out an appreciable distance away from the group just to make sure you don't land on top of a star.

I wondered if that was still the case, because I dropped out into normal space here:

A week or so ago when I was heading out to the Formidine Rift, I found myself in the hotseat on two occasions. I love it, it wakes you up and I always have a heatsink launcher.

I like keeping an eye on the temp guage while figuring the best course to get out of the situation, and launching the heatsink just as the temp nears 100%.

Been a long time since I've been dumped inside a binary, but I have been dropped directly between closely placed ones recently.

Turning off your fuel scoop helps drop the temps in a hurry.

Still happens. They fixed getting stuck within a star, but you can still jump and end up between them.

Ran into a new oddity the other day. Jumped to a system with an M class red dwarf as the primary, both according to the system map and the upper right info panel. Even in hyperspace it looked like I was jumping to a red dwarf. Exiting however deposited me in front of a White Dwarf, with the primary approximately 450,000ls away. I wasn't in any danger, but that's not where I was supposed to end up I don't think.

I've dropped in through a binary star twice now since 3.3 went live, although only one required a heatsink & neither were any more than a bit of a surprise.

Not sure I'd call either event a bug.

I just jumped through a star upon entering a system! Fortunately my only loss was one heatsink. I've got five left and I can synthesise more if needed, but the synthesis materials are a bit hard to come by, 36,980Ly from home!

Talk about a brown trousers moment!

There was a brief period when we would drop out a fair distance from binarys (happened after a big update) We would get dropped way from the scoop distance

A lot of cmdrs complained that the change was taking away risk from the game, fairly certain the devs partially reverted the drop distance back to how it used to be, just not as severe. Originally you could get dropped out of witchspace (through a star) and bang inbetween two stars
