Does the milky way look off to you?

For a while now I have been thinking that the galaxy looks a bit off...
I have used vanilla , tweaked it done all sorts to it , although its better than the late beta one and gamma (I believe) I still think the Beta2 galaxy looked the closest to the real thing. again I could be wrong but I feel like the current render of the milky way if off , what do you think?

Yes, because the devs don't have even a half hand full of data to model it after. Pretty much everything is an approximation. Also our understanding of the forces involved in the movement of the galaxy are very limited.

Do you know if they plan on updating its render? It looked so good in beta 1 and 2

I don't remember how it used to look, but I doubt the will go back. But they might update it, there are some big space geeks working on this game.

This is how it used to look. its more blocky witch is a bit downside but I feel it looks closer to the pictures I have seen , my hope is that one day we will get something like in space engine
