Horizons Does the Mission Timer run off "REAL" time ???

I have been having issues with missions lately that END before the time is up,, Last night I took 3 missions, the shortest one had 2 hr 30 min left .. Out on the planet hunting and 20 min went by, and I get the message "Mission failed". So I look at the other missions and one of the missions that started with 4 hr was now down to 1 hr 15 min. This does not happen everytime, some last and the timer goes down in real time. So do some Missions have a different timer or is there a bug??

They should be real time and won't pause when you're logged out. If a 4-hour mission expires after only a couple of hours, it's bugged.

It's a bug for sure.
I have had multiple missions fail well before the timer has run down.
Very annoying!

Yes, the missions are in real time and don't pause on logging off (naturally)
And yes, I've encountered this, too. It's a bug.

Glad to hear this is a bug. Took my first two planetary missions yesterday. Both failed in less than half the advertised time. The annoying thing was that the second one failed just at the time when, after having found a large number of most excellent rocks, I had finally found some escape pods. Will avoid surface missions until fixed.

I've once had the opposite happen.

12 hr mission to hunt a pirate, but couldn't complete it in the evening. Next evening there was some sort of error, because the bulletin board was in French, and my mission still had an hour left. I think I connected to a French server, and the mission timer used local time instead of GMT. Because my time zone is +10 hrs, I ended up with approximately 22 hrs to finish the mission. But this was months ago, and I thought they fixed it.

Maybe the bug came back, and you are losing time when changing to a server in a different time zone?
