does the playstation version support vr too?

Are you asking because you have a psvr set? If that's the case then all you need to do is try it, if it works (or does not) then you'll have your answer & confirmation of it.

I suspect it won't work however.

Would quite unlikely to be a very enjoyable experience due to the low resolution of the PSVR, though (especially given how much information is visible in the cockpit).

The PSVR2 would be a rather different story. But alas, it's not even out yet, and extraordinarily unlikely the devs will implement any sort of support.

yeah the psvr just made me want a better headset...
but when i set my hmd to 1920x1080 the text is all still legible so it would be workable.
if it doesnt use it tho, thats irrelevant i suppose lol.

PC 4.0 never got VR for DLC EDO so for Fdev VR is now dead on Elite.. Even with an Active PC users base and new hardware releasing for PC they wont do any more VR for elite...
VR support is so dead on elite its coffin is so deep in the ground it passed through the core of the planet and spat out the other side... and left at warp speed into the sun...

I have tried ED with my Oculus Rift S, which has a vertical resolution of 1440p (which is a quite significant improvement over 1080p), and all the cockpit text is barely legible, in some cases borderline illegible.

The PSVR2 has a vertical resolution of 2040p, which would be a huge improvement.

i played it for a while on an hp 1440, and it was very functional.
never had a problem reading text on screen.
just didnt like the low res and screendoor effect.
