Does the rank 1 and 5 influence bonus of powers apply anywhere?

Hey there. Interested in having more influence punch. A few factions offer increased influence gains when you are rank 1 or 5. Does this apply anywhere, or just to the power you are raising inf for?

Thanks o/

You're terms are a bit back-to-front... firstly

Factions - The entities which exist in each system
Powers - Powerplay entities such as Aisling Duval, Denton Patreus etc; and just for completeness
Superpowers - The major entities to which Factions/Powers belong. These are the Alliance, Empire or Federation.

Factions do not offer increased influence gains, the Powers do. But that effect is not a result of holding rank as a pledge to that power, or at least, I can't find any power where that's the case. I presume instead, you're actually talking about the exploitation effects of a power, e.g

136584

These are system-effects, regardless of the pledge-status of the individual commander.

In this case, these are Patreus' effects, and so Imperial factions get influence boosts in his control systems, of which there are currently 56. You don't need to be pledged to Patreus to experience that... but obviously that only occurs in their control systems.

So for example Aisling's power says that at rank five you get a 100% influence bonus.
Interesting, I hadn't seen that. Your terminology was still a bit back-to-front, but I'd never heard of those bonuses. Thanks, learn something new each day :)

But that's also not my read of it. For Aisling Rank 2

136607

Then Rank 5
136608

Given the language used in various other bonuses... I'd suggest it functions like this:
  • Rank 2's text says it applies to Controlled/Exploited systems only.
  • Rank 5 says a 100% increase to influence reward, so that would be a 100% increase on those values, i.e at Rank 5, you can basically read it as
"Any influence change applied in a controlled/exploited system is increased by 20%, increasing to 30/40/50 percent at galactic power standing levels 3/2/1 respectively"

Nonetheless, it only applies to controlled/exploited systems in Aisling's domain, not anywhere, so there's not much point being pledged to Aisling unless you're operating in her territory. Which I think answers your question....

EDIT: In the case of Yuri Grom, the "100% influence" statement feels like a typo, considering the rank 2 effect, as opposed to Winters' whose bonus feels correct. Copy/Pasta ahoy.

The rank two influence bonus only works if Aisling is one of the current top three powers.

Winters gets the same rank five double BGS influence bonus. What it means is that when working in our spheres, I just hit the influence cap twice as quickly when doing BGS work.

That's not my read of it at all.

It says the bonus is 10%, increasing to 15/20/25 for Aisling ranked 3/2/1 respectively. ... so (implicitly) the 10% is for rank 4 and below. Unless you're aware of an active bugreport/proof otherwise that that part of the text is totally wrong?

To be honest, I haven't noticed the ten percent, or the passive "Winters boost" that fed factions receive in her space. I just assumed they didn't work, or it needed to be in the top three to kick in or something. That needs testing.

I definitely noticed the 100 percent boost however, but I don't know if it stacks with the 10 percent. It makes BGS feel like it did before the action rebalance. It also makes fighting influence changes of Winters or Aisling pilots daunting in their own space, since most of your dedicated powerplayers are rank 5.
