does this change smuggling

smuggling illegal commodities
- Each star system's current security levels now significantly affects buy & sell prices for legal and illegal commodities
- Significantly increased the effects of faction state on commodity markets availability and prices

hmm does this mean that say a high security system will pay a lot of money for illegal goods on the black market. if so then does that mean that smuggling could exist without taking bulletin boards. Am I right or wrong?

I mean, smuggling without taking bulletin boards exists now! That's where the money was at back in the day. Lusonda, man. 2-3 million credits per trip illegally selling slaves on the black market! looks like those days may be coming back if we find a good high security system to sell to!

well it might I personally hope you are right because that would be great but we can't be too sure I just don't want to get my hopes up lol.

How it *should* be. Also, hi-sec systems should be very tough to smuggle into. I am thinking th elikes of a race engine equipped courier, stripped down to nothing, would be the ultimate short range smuggler.

Anyway, I hope this is the case. Smuggling is my "thing".

You can still do that, just not at Lusonda. Pretty much any Archone Delaine system that has a Black market, Considers Imperial Slaves Illegal & has an Extraction/Refinery economy will do the trick. Easy 4kCr/t+ profit if you buy the Imp Slaves at a good price.

So, A Cobra. Best smuggling ship in the game because it's the fastest ship in the game. There is also the fact that when you get caught with illegal cargo all that happens is a Fine. Which you simply don't ever pay.

Hope so, once I mod my Asp Explorer with engineer upgraded thrusters AND a low emision power plant after I get 2.1 I'd be all over that...who would've thunk a smugglers ally would be an Exploration engineer and not the Dweller? :p

I honestly hope that if this is true they balance it correctly for instance I don't think you should be able to haul a large amount of goods in a big ship. The ship should have to be small with minimal cargo space. but the illegal goods should sell for a lot for instance I think it should be possible to make a 6k profit on narcotics. so the little cargo you are carrying is worth a lot. It would be unfair to have massive ships hauling huge amounts of illegal goods and it should really difficult as well as in silent running and getting interdicted a lot. this way regular traders who use the type 9 can still trade legal goods for a good profit and the cobra or asp can trade small amounts of illegal goods for the same profit.

When no one knew about Lusonda, I used to be able to get 8k per ton of slaves. Good times.
