Dominion Update 5: Ups and Downs

After diving into the new update, I am thrilled with the new species and their behaviors. It's so nice to have a nice variety of tiny animals in the park. And there are many bug fixes that did not go unnoticed, like aquatic reptiles no longer searching for food when it's... right next to them. So thank you, thank you, thank you!

However, I was disappointed to see all three new Sandbox maps are of medium size. With (thankfully) more and more species being added, if anything, I need more space to build! Not less. Very seldom do I choose a medium map unless it's got some unique flavor like San Diego. I was hoping to at least see one large one. It was also disappointing to see (which was included in the patch notes) that buildings would be supplemented with DFW variants. This continues to bother me about the BioSyn expansion and I was hoping that wouldn't be the case here. The buildings that ARE new are well-done.

I also remain confused as to whether new Challenges yield rewards like the original ones did. If they do, it's unclear to me how, and what. They have good premises and I'll definitely be doing them, but is there a 'reward' for working through them on the hardest difficulty?

In general though, a nice addition and I'm happy I spent the money. Hopefully we will see at least one more major update before JWE2 comes to a close. Thanks!

Two of the new maps are strangely mislabelled.

San Albertus Peninsula is the third largest largest map in the game with a playable area of 2.34 km2, behind Sierra Nevada (2.55 km2) and Yosemite (2.51 km2) and should be registered Large. Whereas Santaegidus Island has a playable area of 0.88 km2 and registered as Small.

Oh thank you! I was thinking during the campaign it was so strange the peninsula would be considered medium, but I also haven't done both maps on sandbox yet and was going by the label. Very good to know - thank you! :)

The new Challenge Mode levels don't have specific rewards tied to them like the others.
